  1. Ok folks, Eileen and I got home yesterday. Now I will start thinking about repairing the new scratch on top of my saddle bag. A few questions for any of you who have done this. The scratch is not real deep but deep enough that I can feel it. I may be able to sand it out but am not sure. Should I even try or should I used some type of filler? If so, what would be the best thing to fill it with? I will probably just order some matching paint from Colorrite. I think that one of their aerosol cans would be enough but from the customer reviews that I read there, the aerosol clear coat that they sell does not work well. The reports are that it does not spray well from the cans and there is a lot of problem with bubbles, uneven spray, etc. Have any of you ever tried it? Would I be better off just ordering the pint size non-aerosol and primer and having it shot at a bodyshop?
  2. Am looking for suggestions for slip on exhaust for rsmv. Would like just a little move volume than stock with a deep sound. Know some people like the bub sleepers. Any suggestions and thoughts will help.
  3. Ok, I'm in the process of rebuilding all four carbs on my '84. I've got a Carbtune and the Colortune is catching my eye for dialing in the carbs. My question is how does this item work in the deep wells on an '84 1200? Is it visable enough to be useful or do I need the buy the attachments to view it in the well? Thanks Mike
  4. I have a very annoying sound when I tilt the bike left or right, after I reach 45mph or better, sounds like the wind is catching on something and making a deep sound, anybody got any ideas???
  5. I think we ended up with about 20" of snow. It's a real mess right now. I did manage to get to the store this morning in the wife's SUV but there is no way that I'm getting out in my company Caravan. My brother in law came over yesterday and when he came in he told me that I was snowed in and no way would I get out. He said that I had about 3' deep ruts in the driveway. He was wrong, he made about 3' deep ruts in the YARD because he MISSED the driveway. I will have a lot of work to do when it warms up and dries up enough to do repairs. Hope it melts off soon.....I HAVE to get out of here and back on to work. Have I mentioned yet today that I HATE THIS WHITE STUFF.
  6. I travel quite a bit to auto auctions for my employer to buy used cars. On my way back form Milwaukee today I was thinking how great it will be when the weather warms and I can ride to an auction or two. That got me to thinking about the condition of some patches of road here in Wisconsin and other states I sometimes travel through. There are long stretches of interstate where the pavement is degenerating into long deep trenches on each side of the road and down the middle between lanes. Some of these trenches and potholes are 8 inches deep. That would be a disaster on a motorcycle. I know that these will be patched eventually, but will take a while to do it. These trenches will drastically reduce our ability to manuever and change lanes. PLEASE be careful during our early spring rides and watchout for bad sections of road. We sure don't want see anymore "rider down" posts.
