  1. we have been camping at lakesde park the last three days. would have been great but for the 3 days of rain. you can make reservations any time for next july. it' the only campground in this area.
  2. don, try the atkins diet. go buy the book and read it. it works and your never hungry. i lost 60 lbs. on it. and got to eat all the neat fat loaded food. i gained it all back . the beer got to me.
  3. i guess i forgot one big part of putting the rally on. i forgot to introduce our great committee. don, and i are hosting it, b2 mom and dad, and eusa1 are doing the registration and t-shirts, and all the hard stuff, coles grandpaw, and buddy are the ride coordinators. this group has a whole bunch of experience putting on top notch meets. with freebird as my cohost how can it get any better? i'll keep don busy keeping me and b2 dad out of trouble. we do want everyone to have a really great time. see you there. snarley bill
  4. folks i know it's early, but if you have any idea of attending the rally and staying in one of the three host motels, get your reservation as soon as you can. you can always cancel down the road. we have filled one block at comfort suites and are working on the second one. there is a limit on blocks that i can get. the red roof inn is the only one that i could'nt get special rates on, because their rates are pretty reasonable. all the motels in this town are very popular because it is a major tourist area. so get those rooms lined up. the three i have picked are good motels in every ones price range, and close to the activity and meeting place. so get them rooms booked. i want to keep everyone as close together as possible. bill
  5. we had a great time also. they always give us a warm welcome. the tour guide did a great job. thank you lewis for a job well done. bill
  6. i'm really excited about going to st. jude. i missed the last 2 years due to alot of health problems. got a clean bill of health from the doc yesterday so linda and i are rarin to go. see you'all there. :clap2:
  7. why does everyone avoid the stratoliner? ive had mine almost 4 years and would'nt trade it for any bike made. very comfortable and roomy, ultra powerful and fast, wing like handling, and looks like a motorcycle is supposed to. they can also be bought at a cheap price. theres no engine heat on the legs at all. no they don't have all the silly buttons and toys to play with on the handle bars, but come on folks it's a motorcyle not an iphone. try one you'll like it. if you don't you need to be in a car not on a bike.
  8. annie , i went up there today and made sure they had the room yuo wanted. they got you covered. bill
  9. met my match on this scoot. i removed the oem air box and went to a k&n filter. first test ride i had to push it home, way lean. did some jetting and getting close. quick out of the hole, same top speed, 43 mph. my new carbon fiber forks got here today. look out 1 rst genners i'm coming for you. :cool10:
  10. my zx 14 that i built for the texas mile, was well over 200 hp. my blood pressure medicine did me in. i could'nt handle the g force. got light headed and dizzy. i had an air shifter because you could'nt let go of the bars to clutch it. when the red light blinked at 10,000 rpm just hit the button. it was one bad machine. i decided i was to old for it, and sold it. now i'm having a great time with my ruckus.
  11. has anyone that plans on attending the rally booked rooms at red roof inn or super eight yet . if so let me know in the motel info section. i have to keep an eye on our room blocks. i think we may have filled our first block at comfort suites. i can negotiate more rooms and get more motels if needed. i want to make sure everyone has a place to stay at a good rate. since we are going to have a huge turn out i am going to work on getting the new huge pavillion at lakeside park reserved for the last meal. it is the biggest and nicest place in our area. as far as lakeside camping goes try making your reservations there anytime. i will be camping there next week so i will have all the info. don't worry about getting a good site they are all good. some are drive thru and there are 3 concrete handicap sites. please keep me posted on motel reservations. thanks bill:welcome1:
  12. darn brad, take it from one who knows. we are getting to old to go fast. i'm down to a honda ruckkus now. i rejetted it this morning, and what a thrill. i hit 30 mph on a hill i could only do 20 on last last week. now thats what i call high performance.
  13. gee don this news is heart breaking. linda and i talk about annie all the time. we feel she is apart of our family cuz we new her from day one at the hub. it is a sad day for us also. we will always remember her. she had a good home . bill
  14. annie, you are welcome, and we are looking forward to seeng you again. bill and linda.
  15. linda and i just came from lunch on main street. for those coming to the rally you will be in for a real historic treat. it will take 2 days to take in main street and frontier park, and surrounding sites like the river boat, the awesome water front, and all the shops and restaurants. also we will have many rides listed short and long, lined up so people can take off in groups. if you don't know the area. no worry i will get you there and back. this is probably the neatest river town on the mississippi and missouri rivers. when don picked st. charles, he picked a good one. i am going to work hard so the folks who attend can pack in all the sight seeng and riding they can handle. every thing on main street, is with in walking distance, and not far from the motels, and camp ground. i plan on making a list to hand out with points of interest, and addresses to put in your gps. definately make sure you have a gps for the rides. registration will be near the boat museum monday, and tuesday morning starting at 10 am., on the river front adjacient to frontier park and main street. the address for registration is 1050 south river side drive. st. charles, mo.. i will post more details as i get them together. if your caging it bring your bicycle. you will have plenty of use for it. you can also rent one down there at the bike stop on the katy trail . the largest state park in the usa. last but not least get on the calender as soon as you decide if your coming, and definately get your motel reservations as soon as possible. want to keep every one as close to each other as possible. bill
  16. first i want to thank all the folks that got on the calender already. it's 10 months away and we have a phenominal number. the motels are listed in their own thread under 2015 international rally. be sure to get reservations in early so we can fill the bloc for the special rates. i can negotiate more rooms for the block when we fill it up. if we need more motels i will get them. as far as camping goes i will get that info posted this week. the camping facility is top of the line. it's 370 lakeside park in st. peters if you want to check it out on line. the photos are old and it has come a long way since they were taken. st. peters has spent millions of dollars constucting it. registration will be coming soon. i can't get over how well everything is coming together this early. thanks again for all the interest. snarley bill
  17. a poll would be good. this is everyones meet.
  18. patti, there must be a curse on the calender. people avoid it like the plague. we that put on meets know the importance of a head count. in the case of st. jude the folks at the hospital would like to know how many to expect.
