1. Greetings! I just wanted to post what happened to my friends 2005 Royal Star Tour Deluxe. While riding around town it started to miss and buck and finally died leaving him stranded roadside. After a tow back to the garage we discovered the battery was dead and not charging. Upon closer inspection we found the main fuse was open, starter relay assembly and harness connector had over heated and melted. We found no other problems with the charging system. The main fuse had a resistive connection causing enough heat to melt down the connector, main fuse connection a
2. If it is one piece I will pay the shipping to send me your old one. PM me if your interested.
3. You would probably need at least 3Mbs download speeds. You can do a search on Google (Download Speed test) to determine your speed. I just tried www.speedtest.net and it indicated a download speed of 3.5Mbs. Hmm, I am paying for 7Mbs. There are many variables involved and I am in a fairly remote area so I am not going to complain. When comparing DSL and cable keep in mind that with DSL you have a fixed bandwith and with cable you are sharing bandiwidth. Therefore if you live in a neighborhood where many people are on cable, you may see variations in your download speeds versus DSL wo
4. I have a device called a ROKU box. It connects to my wireless network and allows me to watch a multitude of internet TV. I mainly watch Netflix with a subscription price of $7.99 per month. I disconnected my satellite TV and purchased an antenna to receive my local channels in HD. I am now saving approximately $75 per month. The only thing I miss once in a while are the games on ESPN. But hey, I would rather do something than watch someone do something, so it's all good... I might add that the draw back with ROKU is they don't play well with YouTube. Therefore if you would like to wa
5. Yeah this one sat for a long time. I bought it from my Father in Law so I know it's history. I had to rebuild the carbs, replace the fuel pump, and a myriad other things to get it running. I have put around 500 miles on it over the past week and it seems to be running pretty good. You are correct, it is hard on a bike to set too long without maintenance. Here is a link to a few pics of my bike. I already posted this on another thread, sorry for the double post. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/89a0axy8i3uwuq3/1cjFTWUiXN
6. Thanks for the feedback. I will investigate further and possibly look into the speedohealer. However I may just ride and not worry about it. BTW my current odometer reading on my recently purchased 99 RSV is 12,537 miles.
7. This has probably been asked before, but.... I have recently purchased a 99 RSV with very low miles. I had to do a bunch of work to get it road worthy. I have put around 500 miles on it in the last week and have noticed that the speedometer is off approximately 10% (VERY ANNOYING, I like to know my exact speed without a calculation). When I meter the gas mileage running mostly freeway speeds 75-80mph which meters 80-85 or more on the speedometer I am getting 38 - 40 mph. Calculate the 10% odometer error that makes 34-35 mpg. Does this sound right?
