Haven't found any thing that will work like it and my buddy rich cable died after about 3 years and messed up my communication is respect to the mic until I removed it. I need something to replace it so I can use my mic to speak on my phone.

Hi Guys, I am asking help for a 2002 RSV Midnight. The problem happened like this. The bike was running very well when there was a fluctuation of the headlight strength. The Voltage regulator was replaced with a new voltage regulator and the problem disappeared and the bike was all good. After a few months of riding the new regulator caught fire burned and also burned the plug on the wiring harness. The harness was repaired (new plug spliced into the harness), 2nd new voltage regulator installed and compete check of charging system completed. All tests were in acceptable ranges. After almost a complete riding season the voltage regulator once again blew the main 30A fuse and melted (this time without burining the wiring harness). (The fuse blew first and the regulator was checked and was found to be warn). A new fuse was put into the fuse holder with the ignition OFF. The fuse blew again and the regulator then melted. I am at a loss. Could this be caused by a bad ignition switch. I do not want to just install another regulator and get stuck (again) on the road. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

The bike has 22,000 miles on it and the batter was replaced the start of the 2013 riding season. I will check the voltage being priduced and advise. Thanks for the replies.

I have A 2007 RSV Midnight Venture. When I first start the bike and ride everything seems to work. After a short while riding the speedometer starts to move from the speed I am traveling to zero and back, the turn signal cancelling stops working, the cruise control stops working, the odometer reads incorrectly (lower than I have traveled) and the fuel gauge reads incorrectly (shows more fule in the tank than I have). anyone have any idea what the problem could be and how to fix it? I have already opened the fairing and put dielectric grease on all connections located inside it. Thanks for any helo you can privide

I have used the Time Sert to replace the stripped threads on a bikes drain plug. They make these thread inserts for all types of applications including oil drain plugs and spark plug threads. They are a complete threaded insert not just separate threads like the helicoil. They cannot be tightened too far in or come out as they lock into the hole you tap. I HIGHLY recommend them BUT they are very expensive ($100.00 for the kit to repair the drain plug on the bike but they come with the drill bit, counter bore tool, inserting tool, and 5 inserts in the size) The repair in the aluminum case of tghe bike where the drain plug is went very well, was easy to do and was a permanent repair leaving steel threads instead of the aluminum that were from the factory and best of all....no leaking oil!

Nothing for nothing but I have owned a 2002 and now own a 2007 and if this one gets too much mileage on it for my liking I will buy a new one. I hope they keep it the way it is 'cause IT WORKS !!! Slightly top heavy but the best touring machine out there for the money! With the aid of this site and the members here I have been able to add a trailer easily (Trailer wiring patch chord) and have my G.P.S. blue tooth my cell phone into my headphone and use my headset microphone as the speaker for the phone (microphone patch chord). P.S. it fits my 6'9" frame to boot (Can't ft on either the Harley or the Goldwing).
