  1. I just mounted the saddlebag organizers to the lids of the RSTD. There was a ton of 3M Velcro and I figured I would just mount them the recommended way and if it doesn't work I will try something else. So far, so good. They fit nicely in the lid, reasonably priced, and a quality product! at this point, I would highly recommend!
  2. trigger pulled. will post feedback and pix of install!
  3. not very scientific, but it seems that it will fit in the lid with no issues. successfully attaching is going to be the hard part, but I can already see places for brackets/clips etc. using the existing hinge and locking mechanism hardware. I will probably pull the trigger on trying to do this...
  4. Has anyone tried to modify the Saddleman HD Saddlebag Lid organizers to fit the Venture/Deluxe? I made a template of the inside of my bags and found the dimensions of the HD organizers. I think this could be done?? The Saddlemen FLH Saddlebag Lid Organizer Set is trim, functional and smartly styled organizers fit snugly into the lids of your FLH-style saddlebags. Organize your trip packing and maximize your cargo space using the organizer’s various closed and mesh see-through storage pockets. A variety of elastic bands keep your flashlight, tire gauge and other gear in place, but easily accessible. Easily installs to the saddlebag lids with included hook and loop fastener strips at the factory hardware points. Installation can be completed in minutes with no modification to your motorcycle’s luggage. 20" x 6 5/8" x ½". Includes right and left organizer. it seems that the "hook and loop" attachment system is BS according to feedback. I guess if you think about it, adhesive backed velcro on the underside of a hot lid + in an oven = Goo! "Won't stay on. I cleaned the inside of the saddlebag lids and used the alcohol wipes per the instructions then added the adhesive-backed velcro strips. Two days later I put on the organizers but by the next day the adhesive let go from the saddlebag lid. Otherwise these are real nice and well built. I can't use them as-is and need to find a better method of attaching them." hmmmm?
  5. this is awesome!!! never heard of this fix?
  6. here's another pic of one that is OEM.

  9. Hello Venture Riderz! I am looking for a very simple addition to my bike that doesn't cost a lot. A chrome "disc" with an adhesive backing to put on the water pump over the Yamaha. I do not want to purchase the OEM stuff that is 70 bux and blah, blah. Does this exist?
  10. yeah, I think would look decent. good idea!
  11. yeah, i was thinking about that after I was done. Water can definitely collect there and and the leather could stay moist for awhile. I will have to address that issue...
  12. yes she does. on the piping around the edge.
  13. 3/4 inch length on the hex head.
  14. got them mounted. used a 10-24 hex head, washer and locking nut. drilled through the fender and mounted the flap. Covered with the fender tips. worked well! i would have ground down the hex head a bit if i had a grinder handy... would have made a cleaner fit, but this worked.
  15. thanks!! got hold of sierra and they told me what i needed to order! I appreciate your response and your help!
  16. I am cornfused again.. dun't take much! What is the pin configuration for this jack? As you can see, I have the two-prong to go to the cb, the PTT button, and at the end of the other cord is the head-set jack. I need a behind the ear headset with boom mic for this thang! Thanks in advance!

  18. still have to get into that. I am thinking of going right through the fender with something that will secure it but also be decorative on the outside?? There was also a post on here from another rider who had pics of them on the bike. I will find it...
  19. 20. Bob: Can you tell me the exact model of mudflap that you ordered from leatherconnexion? if you recall... I appreciate it!
  21. thanks Ace50 and Seaking! I read the numerous posts about mileage, and I see that the mpg difference is minimal. I want the "feel" i guess? One thing that is giving me doubts is the higher rpm and how noticeable that it is. I gotta ride one!
  22. 'preciate that!! I have heard sooo many positive things about this modification! Knowing me, I will just go ahead and do it. what are your experiences? I absolutely love my bike, but with 2-up and high speeds it just pisses me off. 1st gear is a dog, 5th lugs in the wind.... I think this is the ticket? if you have a minute, give me your review and experiences. thanks!
  23. Ok!! thanks so much! when the weather breaks I will plan to come and see ya!! thanks so very much for the opportunity! I ride with the Port City Chapter of Southern Cruisers. We will get up your way for a meet-up!
