  1. Completely understand. Our thoughts and prayers will be with your family tonight. Prayers help. Not a doubt in my mind. James
  2. They are super nice looking and would look great on your bike! The F6B cobra 6 into 6 are not really a true 6 into 6 tho.. (can you say marketing to the ole Valk guys to buy them?). I look forward to Cobra's pipe on the F6b and anxious to see what the dyno #'s are opposed to stock. It is a sweet looking set of pipes. But I am just a little disappointed in Cobra for not making a true header type pipe for the F6b. (maybe someday?) Do not know if you could install original cobra valkyrie 6 into 6 pipes on a 1500gw or not. Doubtful. But wouldnt that sound nice! Let's see if this Pic comes up... these are the original "cobra" pipes for Valk's. James
  3. Miles, Have given you a few days before I ask this question.. I know you said you have accessories on order.... but what accessories have you been able to find/order for your F6B at this point. Really curious how much is on the market now. And did you decide on a cruise control? Were you able to get the Russell Day Long going? and.... how many miles have you been able to put on it in the last few days???? James
  4. I am not sure what to say other than it WILDLY EXCEEDS my expectations of what I believed was possible. It is what I had in mind, but had no Idea it could be done. BIG TIME PROPS TO DON!!! OUTSTANDING!:dancefool: GROUP HUG! James
  5. First, I am 6'1" so may be a couple inches above your helmet height. Next, I have the 10.5" to 16.5" but when raised, I think it does a better job sending wind above you than the stock. Flex? IDK. Remember it's wider by 4" You can see thru the lower. I dont think you would be looking thru but over it. I can see why you would be hesitant. It is an unconventional way of thinking to have a 2 piece shield. The attaching system is fairly easy to use, but I am not concerned at all about it not holding. Very sturdy. I also am not concerned about rain coming between the shields. Maybe 1/8th inch apart with maybe 2 inches of overlap. When we ride, I find that 90% of the time, I have the upper shield in place. Around town, 3 minutes and it's down. Hope this helps, James
  6. Looking forward to the pics. We were humbled by the super nice people willing to ride that far to meet with us Okies. We look forward to "paying it back" in Arkansas soon. Get us together an Arkansas meet/eat and we are there! (Limit of 908 miles round trip!) We met some of the nicest people! And have all kinds of FARCKLE Envy! James
  7. I think the reason I realized the upper was not "UP" was I caught a stray Oklahoma red wasp right above the visor on the helmet. got lucky there. If you travel to sturgis and long trips, the upper shield IMHO provides more protection than the stock shield. Without it, You'll catch those bugs, yes. The lower only is more for town and watering hole trips In my humble opinion. BTW, this is not a flimsy hokey shield. It is thicker and more sturdy than stock. And after catching a few rocks on the front from oil field trucks, I like that.
  8. Miles, We have friends here in Ok that own a Honda dealership. They told me the 12-13 goldwings were either manufactured in a different plant or maybe even country than previous wings and have much less quality control and more people have started looking for pre-12's. I do not think the general public has been made fully aware of this. A little research might confirm. And, maybe just maybe, they moved assembly of the wing to make room for the F6B? Who knows. Also, being Valkyrie riders, we can see the direct correlation to the Valk. Honda has marketed the new bike directly towards x-valk riders and the money makers in the 30-50 age that have loved the valk and wing but might now want the full blown wing. The inside cover of this months Cycle World has an ad with the caption "Goldwing with an attitude". I think they have hit a home run that has yet to go out of the park. Only time will tell how many will be sold but I bet it's a lot and will get a significant share of the market. I cannot wait until Ultimate has a saddle for it. Cobra is already making the 6 into 6 exhaust and others are scrambling to catch up on accessories. I cannot wait to hear your experiences with this bike. I follow your reviews and look forward to hearing your review on this one! I was also wondering, do you think the valkyrie interstate CB/cruise controller on the left bar would somehow be fitted to the F6B? (I know the interstate is carb'd and F6B is FI. But still curious. Never seen the panels off an F6B. Look forward to your experiences. I definitely am GREEN with ENVY and will probably own one in the next year or two, provided they live up to the hype. Love it!:clap2: James
  9. In the face, but less than my 10" smoked windshield that I used to put on for one up riding. I think the wider shield does a lot to keep the air off your chest. You can read what I posted in a previous thread here: http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=75772 I think I posted previously that I rode 20 miles before I realized I didnt have the taller shield up. Really like the option. James
  10. Thanks Diane and Phil (rosebud), yesterday was a great ride! Special thanks to Vincent (playboy) and crew from Foreman Arkansas and Raymond (colesgrandpaw) from Paris Arkansas for traveling so far to meet with us! (Was it 320 miles one way straight shot?) They actually traveled over 500 miles each way to meet up with Raymond and head to Oklahoma!!!Sorry the Round Barn in Arcadia was closed and we had an abrupt goodbye. Darrell (cdwl7) came from El Reno and others traveled from Tuttle, Marlow and abroad to enjoy the ride and meeting other riders from Oklahoma. I think the 1985 first Gen that Gary (GaryZ) rode from OKC was very impressive! Gary knows his bike and we all agree the color was outstanding! You can tell just talking with him he loves that bike. (And has a lot of love and work in it) In a nutshell, we had a great time and enjoyed every minute. You can tell everyone loves riding no matter what make the bike! We look forward to Diane posting pictures of the festivities! Great big thanks to everyone for showing! It far exceeded our expectations!! James
  11. Ok folks, tomorrow is it! We will see you in Mulhall! 2:30 It's not too late to join us if you happen to be in the area. We have plenty of room! I have talked with the fine people at Lucilles and they assured me they are ready to accommodate us! We will see you in Mannford Rosebud. Ride Safe!!! James p.s. PM me if you are planning on making it and are not on the list in the calendar area of the site. We will get you a seat at the table!
  12. Your right. I guess we just need to see who will post their approximate location.
  13. :think:Ok, I can see there is some interest in this. But this is more what I had in mind: please click on it, add a pin, do whatever. simple to use. In the lower left corner it says "to customize the map, click here" do that to add your location. http://mapfling.com/qu833w8 I am not at all opposed to using what we have, but really like the way mapfling uses the column to the left for a current list of "pins" and provides great details. I am sure there has to be a way to use something similar, and make it mobile, for members that want to add their information. Would love for it to be a part of this site. Come on programmers, techy's and the like, help an old man out. But make it simple!
  14. We will be at the gas station (conoco?) parking lot from 12:30 till 12:45 in Mannford, just west of lake keystone. If you are coming from T-town, the station is just before the pizza hut at the stop light. Same side of the road. (Supposed to be ethanol free gas there also) I think it's about an hour and 1/2 from there to Mulhall. let's see if I can get this map to show up.....nope. click on link http://mapq.st/YyoMYE James
  15. Some of you web/techy types can probably answer this. After messaging the boss, he reminded me of the Venture sighting map on the left of the screen, which I can see gets little use. BUT, said a map like I am thinking of may be possible to incorporate into the site. I told Don to me it would be very interesting and possibly helpful while traveling to have a interactive map that each of us could put our VR.org member name on a "pushpin" on the map. Now I understand the day we live in, and recommended we only put the pin on the closest town/community/city where we each live. It would be strictly voluntary and up to you how much info you post. I would find it helpful to know if I travel to say St. Louis, that there may be "VRfamily" I could call if my winter maintenance should let me down somewhere on the trail.... Besides, I think it would be very interesting to see where the VR family is spread out across the nation and world. I know we can sort members by state... Might this help plan a route? Contact members for rides? Thoughts? Websites? Maps? Anyone thinking about this? Can we make it part of the mobile (tapatalk or others) options? Ease of use and little work for the boss is priority... I will go back to my corner now. Sorry Boss. James
  16. Bob, Unfortunately, here in Oklahoma we have been in an ongoing drought, which until this week, has been relentless. We are getting rain now thankfully. To answer your question, I have not ridden in the rain with the baggershield as of yet. I will be happy to post my thoughts when it happens. I can understand your concern and can see where you may get a little water between the shields when under say 45-50mph. There appears to be only maybe an 1/8" between shields and at any highway speed I feel it would be fairly insignificant. But I could be wrong. The shield does protect the passenger from wind better than a stock shield, I can say that for certain. I think the added width is obviously much better. I have not measured the height compared to stock but for some reason we do not get as much head buffeting as stock. It is not a AH HA moment, but is better. I will be sure and post rain results. All the best, Ride Safe, James
  17. Thats great! If u have any trouble grab my phone # and call. We look forward to meeting everyone!
  18. That would be Awesome. Here's the link: http://lucillesok.com/ Hope to see you there, 2:30 or whenever you can make it! James
  19. We havent had an Oklahoma meet and eat in 5 years ?? Let's do it! A reminder (posted here at the recommendation of another Oklahoma member) to get your reserves on the calendar for the meet coming up THIS SATURDAY in Mulhall at Lucille's. It's going to be beautiful 70 plus degree weather and NO RAIN!!!!! We have a couple riders meeting on hwy 51 headed west out of Tulsa around 12:30 so join in for the fun! Let's go Oklahoma, let's meet and RIDE! :biker::biker::biker::biker::biker: James
  20. I am interested as well.....watching to see where this goes... :icon_lurker:
  21. One of the owners I talked at length with about his F6B had 3 stealers bidding against each other. Ended up paying $18,000 after a few days of back and forth. Out the door, nothing else. 18k.
