I have been dealing with the same issue on mine for a couple of weeks so I am also relocating the main fuse. Stupid place to put it.

-
Just went out to check the bike. Pulled the seat. Check the battery and low and behold the battery was totally dead. So now it looks like something is draining the battery. It started fine at the overlook at the Palo Duro Canyon. Showed no sign of the battery being slightly run down. 20 miles later it was dead. When I hook up the charger to the battery the needle on the charger jerks a little about every second. This could be from being totally run down. But when I disconnect the battery from the bike the needle stops the jerking. I replaced the starter relay a couple of years ago. Wonder if this could be going bad? Thanks in advance for any advice.
Charles
Mine has done the same thing a couple of times over the last 3 weeks. I removed the starter relay and cleaned everything in the fuse box and then used plastic ties to hold the relay in place and I haven't had any issues for about a 1,000 miles. The main fuse was all gummy and such so I used steel wool and cleaned it up and also cleaned up the connections in the fuse box and so far so good. I also found a wire going into the left passing light that was worn through the insulation and I fixed that. Thought maybe it was grounding out and drawing down the battery. I ride a MM Also so good luck on fixing it. I also wondered if maybe the starter was going bad and drawing down the battery.

Hello all,
My 06 RSV has developed a loose feeling in corners and I am feeling every undulation on the road. Often times unlevel parts of the road will move me in the lane. Also I am getting some vibration in the front. I initially thought it was my suspension, but the Yamaha dealer is saying the front bearings and swing arm bearings probably need to be repacked. He recommended the 16K service.
Any suggestions before I drop $900 on what sounds like a very thorough servicing?
Thanks
Mongo
Don't let the stealer get your money, I have 92,000 miles on mine and the front wheel bearings are oem, swing bearings are oem, i did have to replace a rear wheel bearing at 65,000 or so and that made it feel squirly in the corners before I replaced it. raise the bike and stick a rod in the wheel and see if it moves. I vote tire pressure or worn tires or or maybe even old tires

I can see Big Tom in the window:stickpoke:

OK - I was unaware I needed to pre-register, but having been informed, I have complied. Which, for those of you that know me, is completely out of character.
I also have some questions -
Is there a dress code for the banquet, or can we come "au natural"?
Came as you want
What If I'm a vegetarian or allergic to peanuts - do I get a seperate meal?
I am sure you can order from a menu
Is beer included? Do I have to bring my own pretzels?
NO WAY WE WOULD GO BROKE ON YOU ALONE
Can I make fun of the Canadians, eh?
YES YES AND YES
If I get my feelings hurt, can I get money back?
NO JUST SUCK IT UP
What if I don't like the color of my room?
TUFF
I may have more later.
That is enough questions

The speedometer on my 1st gen is off 1 mph at 70 according to timed mile markers and two different GPS's. Odometer seems real close also.
The speedometer being off is a 2nd gen thing to make them think they are going faster.
RandyA
Dag Gummit, I didn't look at what you were riding. And now I know why you get better mileage The first gens have so much plastic they don't weigh anything:stickpoke:
-
Those getting 45+ MPG do you take into consideration your speedometer is off by 10%. I saw one post that said he was getting 38-40 2 up pulling a traileron the interstate. WOW that's what I get 1 up driving 60 mph on 2 lanes. 2 up pulling a trailer at 75 on the interstate I get 32 if I am lucky

Just wanted to remind everyone when they send money for the rally via paypal PLEASE PLEASE do not put down any reason please just use one word only and that would be "Galena" I will know what it is for. When you say it is for the rally or put in any details they charge $4.40 when I accept the money. Also for our dear friends from the north Please make sure you send funds in US currency because when paypal converts it it is less money.
Also make sure you mark it as a gift.
Thank you

I have an 09 RSV. During the Ride For Dad yesterday I noticed a vibration start. At first I thought is was road condition or a tire. As the ride progressed the bike was "clunking" going into gear, especially 4th and 5th. It got worse and started to hear a chatter when gearing down. Not sure how long the chatter was there..when riding with a group of Harley it is hard to hear much!
.Also feels rough when under load going down hill. It will slip back to a lower gear under load also.Taking it to the dealer when I can get in. There is only 7000k on it so should be warranty.
Any idea of what to expect?
Thanks
Miles doesn't matter on the warranty it is 5 years unlimited miles

if you are doing parks be sure to buy a park pass if you are under 65 it is $80 but you can put 2 people on it and is good for a year at all National Parks ans some state parks. If you visit 2 or more it saves you money. If over 65 $10 disabled Vet Free
