Others have said in the past that this group of members is more like family every day. I also say it's true because of the ways we help each other either physically or providing important tips. Today I send my many thanks to Larry (Carbon_One) for his generosity in sending me the set of clips that hold the intercom connections to the bike. I certainly appreciate that! Now, since he sent the pair and I only need one, anyone else looking for one of these clips, PM me and I'll send it to you. What a fine group! Owen.
You know Nemo you can nominate Larry for an award if you ask Freebird.

I wonder what CNN & HLN will do this week since Jodi Arais and George Zimmerman trials are over. What will they talk about all day?
Jeff they will fabricate and twist something for their own gain. I stopped watching the news programs years ago because of this. Twisted crap to sell and make money. Greed

Headed To Galena, Il today to finish up the last few little things for the 2013 Ventureriders.org International Rally
Great day for a ride up.
Remember if you haven't registered there is still time and if you decide at the last minute to come you can still register when you get there. Also don't forget to bring your money there will be 50/50 raffles, 2 homemade afghans will be auctioned off, there will be 2 other items to be auctioned off and you can also buy the winning ticket for the trailer raffle. The trailer will be on display at the rally for you all to inspect.
Also remember if you want to do horseback riding or take a hot air balloon ride to reserve your time now. It is your responsibility to do this.
If when you get there you need any help you can see one of the committee members or the people at the resort said to let you all know they will be there to help us out anyway they can.
Ride safe

Does anyone live near Sheboygan Falls Wi. that would be willing to take a look at this bike for me? Just see what kind of shape it is in. I haven't contacted the owner yet, but will if someone can help me. It's a long ways from Atlanta.
It doesn't look like a Royale but that is fixable. If it's worth buying I might be interested. (Hey Don, would I have to change my name to 87er?
)

Todd my friend how are you? You will get some people offering because we have a few members within about 40 miles from there.

I don't understand all the haters out there that INSIST Its horribly dangerous to run a car tire on the rear wheel. I have over 30,000 miles on my BF Goodrich 155/80R15 (i have a 2005 Venture) and have had zero problems. I expect to get 40,000 miles out of my $85 tire. That's a savings of what, $600 ?
I take turns just as fast as anybody, and the bike is just as stable. I felt a MUCH bigger change switching from the OEM Dunlop tire to a Metzler. Does that mean Metzler makes tires that are super scary unsafe? Of course not.
If those who fear the Darkside like paying $160 every 8,000 miles for a new tire, more power to ya. But stop screaming I'm a fool, tanking my life in my hands, gonna kill myself any day now. Moms all over the world have been whining that tune to every motorcycle rider since the 50's. My zero wrecks, zero close calls, and $600 savings tell me I made the right call, and I'll do it again when I finally need a new rear tire in 10,000 miles.
why would you pay $160 every 8,000 miles for a tire? I get 20,000 out of my e's

Talked to Jay-Bird today and he was interested in coming to the Rally In Galena to do some pinstriping, I told him we would love to make to have him so he is going to make the 9 hour trek over and set up things for us. SO if anyone is considering getting their bike done at the rally would be a great time to do it.

They are hard to find. I've been looking for a couple of months without much luck. I plan on sending drivers seat only to Day-Long for rebuild and new cover. Biggest issue is your without your seat a few weeks which is why I'm looking for one. Good luck, and if you find one let me know as I might be interested in your old one.
order a seat from Diamond International and you won't be without your old one

If you run Satellite radio split the fairing and run a splitter inside from the original aux jack
so you can hook it up without the tape deck door being open. You can also mount the antenna inside the fairing so it is out of the way.

There is a way not to do this???
OK somebody speak-up????
hit set then resume and it will hold the speed as soon as you do this

I had a similar problem and found it to be the flat atc style plastic fuses on each side of the starter relay the spade blades of the fuses were corroded. cleaned them off and problem gone. replaced fuses when I got home. this is behind the side cover. I would ck them and make sure if there ok and since your in there coat some grease on the fuse blades before reinstalling
Exactly what was going on with mine. Cleaned the baldes on the fuse and filed the spos where the fuse goes and solved my problem.

Wanted to let those who are going to the rally know that they are opening early for breakfast
