  8. Rockford looks a bit too far for some of our group. We will probably stop somewhere just SW of Chicago . We are running US 12 almost all the way to Illinois
  9. What Hotel in Rockford ? maybe we'll book there too. What time would that put you in Detroit area ? Thank You Randy Too bad you couldn't make Rockford, Il on Saturday. We could make a party of it.
  10. No one has addressed the soot problem so I'll give you my If this sooty oil film only appears when the plug is firing that cylinder then I suspect you may have a blown head gasket or cylinder base gasket. Are you able to tell where the soot is coming from? High up or down near the cylinder base? Do you detect any noise from the exhaust header or is it loose? I ask because if your oil ring is shot on that cylinder then a loose head pipe will spray a bit of oil under that senario.
  11. Going to Galena ? Larry & Joyce, Myself and Jeannie are leaving on the 27th , with check-in at Chestnut on the 28th. Were gonna stop somewhere around 1/2 way then arrive sometime Mid day on Sunday. Anyone wishing to join us for the ride there is welcome to ride along. Let us know and we'll get a plan together.
  12. How does the cb interface with the N-Com ?
  13. Sorry to say, my friend, but you must be looking in a mirror ! Not at a 2nd Gen.
  14. We love our southern neighbors
  15. How do the Kury end weights compare to the stock weights, weight-wise ?
  16. I just put iso grips with the rocker on the RSV, there is no way to use the stock bar end weights, the iso grips are longer and ony allow for 3-4 threads of the weight into the bars. You're stuck using the iso weights. sorry I don't have any numbers for you.
  17. I'm going to be purchasing a new headset for my shorty half helmet. I want a wired set, no bluetooth unless it works with the CB. Let's see what the collective wisdom of the nut house has to say on the subject. If I missed any wired headset makers please let me know. If you use a particular headset, it would help to know the model number of it.
  18. you can only wrap them if the baffles are removable. Otherwise you'll have to buy other pipes.
  19. I pray you're right
  20. There are 2 nuts behind the headlamp that have to come off. I lowed mine 1" and the upper fork covers hit the fender mount lugs and dented them, I'd suggest only going 3/4" In this picture you can see the studs above the fork air valve, that's the nuts you need to remove. the studs go thru the collar you see directly in front of the stud.
  21. I could think of no one better to get the trailer when you are done with it.
  22. Maybe we should enact a law like Canada has, If there's an American that can do the job, then No Canadians can come here and take the work. Since there's a lot of unemployed actors we should deport them all.
  23. Would y'all stop that ! You're gonna give him a big head
  24. In Michigan there is no verbiage in the CPL law that specifically say's "Motorcycle" BUT there was a ruling by the attorney general, that a motorcycle or car makes no difference, as the permit to carry is issued to the holder and where ever it's legal to carry you are not in violation of the carry laws. I'm trying to find the ruling, I'll post it when I find it. Q: I am a current CPL holder. I bought a new motorcycle and wondered if it's legal to carry my revolver concealed on me while riding the bike. I also wondered if I can store or conceal the revolver in a locked compartment on the bike. A: So long as you have a valid, Michigan CPL (Concealed Pistol License), you may carry concealed pistols anywhere in the State of Michigan except for those places listed on the "Pistol Free Areas" list in the statute, or private property where the party in control prohibits weapons in general or asks you specifically not to carry there. Note that the intent of the law is that you should lock your gun in your vehicle when you find yourself about to enter a "Pistol Free Area." (NOTE: I use the quotation marks to indicate that the statute uses the term "Pistol Free Area," but only law-abiding citizens are deterred by the rule.) The question of storage is a question of reasonableness. If you have a compartment on your motorcycle that is secure, you should be fine storing your pistol there. However, if the gun falls into the wrong hands, you could potentially face criminal and civil liability. So, be sure that your method and location of storage pass the "sniff test".
