  1. OK there are a couple of possibilities, and you're not gonna like it. First, there is a connector for the pickup coils that can become corroded. The pickup coils are located in the stator cover, and the connector is about halfway up along the rear section of the main frame. The second possibility is the TCI has bit the big one. Good luck with a replacement as they are geting harder and harder to find on ebay and are geting around $100 or so lately. The TCI is located underneith the battery box bolted to the bottom of the coil mounting frame. Also, the connectors on the TCI can become coroded but usually only kills one cylander but caqn incapicitate everything.

If the kill switch or also the kickstand switch are bad I don't think the starter will even turn over...

  2. Actually, surprisingly, there was no damage whatsoever to the forks, triple tree, etc. It bought the "S" model which has the chrome fork covers and they all had to be replaced, along with the fairing, front tire, fender, turn signals, etc. The final aproved estimate was around $4500 after the adjuster has his say. You, on the other hand need a sadlebag, etc because yours went down, which is going to increasae the cost. I kept ours upright somehow by the grace of God...

  3. Freebird, that is one thing I will agree, the Verizon signal was indeed better than AT&T. We had no problem with a signal inside our place with Verizon but no signal inside with AT&T with many other carriers. Unfortunately it has the name Verizon and ever since this spring with that EXTREMELY rude technician who was very rude to my wife I ABSOLUTELY will have nothing to do with anything with the name Verizon...

  4. OK Jerry I will call them. If it doesn't cost then I would be pretty foolish not to at least give them a try. There are 2 semi local chapters, Niagara falls which is 1 1/2 hrs away, and Watkins Glen which is a couple of hours away.

Red Rider, unless the patch is mandatory then I could care less if I have one or not. I'm just looking for events to fill in the holes from Venturerider events.

Hopefully I get our RSV back tomorow or Tuesday but it doesn't matter, it's supposed to rain all week anyway...

  5. Jonas, the pleasure was all ours and we are very glad to have met you!!! Looking forward to seeing you again some time! You are welcome at our place any time you are in the country. Also enjoyed the Black Death...

  6. OK, Lyle, you are saying that because I just bought my RSV this month that I already have a free membership, or do I have to apply for it?? If it's for free then I'll give it a chance. The real reason I wanted to join was for more gatherings and yet more people to meet.

BTW I should finally get Sexi back Monday or Tuesday...

  7. I'm just curious if it is worth the $48 a year membership to join. What are the benefits, activities, etc from a member's perspective as opposed to the published info on the home page. What are your opinions? There are a couple of chapters semi locally here. Should I join??

  8. Is this VentureRider.Org?

Ehhh, this is the watering hole for just general conversation, doesn't really have to be motorcycle related in this forum. If you want that type of legalism may I suggest membership in the "Other" website...:stirthepot:

  9. Verizon SUCKS!!!!! This spring they refused to fix our land line because the fat slob of a technician refused to crawl under our deck to fix the junction box. He said we had no right putting in the deck where we did, and we would have to tear part of it out so he could work on it! Funny thing, the previous technician, a couple of years ago, replaced the junction box and put in a new one and had no problem crawling under the deck to do so. There is approximately 3 feet clearance under there...

To make a long story short, after several service requests and many calls to them, I puled the plug on them along with our cell phone coverage. I how have the cable company doing our land line and my cable bill is the same as it was before, and we have a much better cell plan thru AT&T for less than what we were paying for the land line plus the cell phone bill, by about $20 less a month!!!

Tel Verizon to eat your shorts and switch everything over to a different carrier that actually cares about it's customers! BTW I now have service 24/7, not Mon - Fri 9-5!
