Looks like a nice ride. Those short rides can become addictive and lead to long rides.

Yes, I used to make them from old first gen Venture stands. I sold may a hundred or so of them but it got harder to find the stands and I stopped trying. As stated, all measurements and instructions are listed in the tech library. Diamond R has retired I think. I think it was Rivco who also made them but last I heard, they weren't making them any longer.

I never heard anything from Cowpuc. I know he was no longer riding but he still seemed to have a lot to contribute. I hope he will eventually be back. Patch did send me an email. To be honest, it was very cryptic and I wasn't sure exactly what he was trying to say. I responded and told him that and he said that he was having some issues and had a problem putting into writing what he was trying to say. He also had a lot to offer but he basically said his goodbyes.

Removing those lowers is a fairly major ordeal. I don't think I've actually seen it done. There are a lot of electrical components inside the lowers. On the left side you have the cruise control assemblies and on the right side a fuse box and etc. I would be hard to find a new place for all the things you would have to move. I've owned a lot of bikes and the Venture runs about as cool as any for a bike this size. The new Venture Transcontinental, the Harley, and the Indian all run MUCH hotter.

I would start by bleeding them again. Could well have been an air pocket somewhere. But yes, if it’s been a long time since a flush and change, I would do that.

So have you bought something else?

I like my 365 for carry. It's easy to conceal and shoots well. It comes with a lot of factory grease so you need to make sure you tear it down and clean/lube it before shooting. I'm sure you know that already though. I usually do but was impatient to try it out and the result was several fail to feeds with the first rounds. After cleaning and lubing it, I've never had another problem.
