Hey folks, do me a favor. Poke your head into the new classifieds and see if you think they are going to be ok or not. I've got mixed feeling about them. Seems more complicated than it should be. I've worked through it all and place an ad but there is a bit of a learning curve to them. Before we go too long with it, I would like your opinion If you liked what we had before better, I can get the newest version of it instead.

Yes, any ads posted before last night are gone. That's why I told everybody to hold off on going to the trouble. I just added you to the "Member Vendors" category. One thing that this one allows is for you to list a quantity of the same item. There will be a bit of a learning curve but I think it will be better once people get used to it. Gotta get to work now. Literally got NO sleep last night. There was a bug in the new classifieds that were giving me a database error. Finally got it all wrapped up about 20 minutes ago. Gonna be a long day.

Well, almost ready. You can use them now. You may not like it at first but it does offer some things that the old ones didn't. Member vendors are not setup yet. If you are a member vendor, you need to let me know if you want an area setup for your stuff. I put all our member vendors in their before and most never posted anything. Please let me know here or in a PM if you want to be included. To post in the classifieds, there are a couple of things you have to do. First of all, click on the Classifieds tab on the menu bar. When that page opens, find "user control panel" in the menu bar. You must fill out the "addresses" information. If you plan to accept PayPal, you need to put your paypal email address in "payment setup". Neither of those things are visible to anybody except for you. If you plan to put in a separate price for shipping, you need to click on the shipping options tab and enter the carrier...UPA, FEDEX, whatever and the cost for the shipping. That should get you started. Ask questions here if you have any.

You will have to repost your own classifieds. There was no way for me to save them. I have the new classifieds installed. Don't know if you guys and gals will like them or not but it's what we have for now at least. There are some advantages that the old ones didn't offer. I am still working on the styling/colors. They all look pretty good except the red style where you can't read the text against the background I'll figure that out. Vendors are set up yet but will be soon.

You must have the wrong page bookmarked. Go to the page that you WANT it to go to and bookmark that page.

All the ads were lost. I've posted about this several times. My ads were lost also. I've added a couple back just experimenting. I will be working on the classifieds tonight. Vendors will be back. May not eve use what we have now so have suggested that people wait before reposting their ads.

So sorry for your loss. I lost my father many years ago. I still think of him often and there have been plenty of times when I wished I could seek his advice and wisdom. There are many good memories though and I am thankful for the time that he was a part of my life.

At the top of the page. You have the brighter red menu bar and under than, the dark red menu bar. In the dark menu bar, click on "Quick Links".

OK...I made a change. Still don't know how much I like it but it's a little better.

There is actually an option for a dislike button but that just seems mean to me and not what we are about here. I don't really like this modification though. The one I had installed on the old site was collapsable and this one doesn't seem to be. I'll be looking for a fix or something different.

and it may go away soon if I find that the thanks field can't be collapsed.

You can again now click like or thanks for a post. It is a little different and located at the bottom left of a post.

Sorry, should be there now. Also probably explains why some were getting the no permssions error message when trying to go directly to http://www.venturerider.org There was a new setting for this software that I had missed.

That's about it for today folks. Still things to do but I need to get off this computer and spend some time with Eileen now. I'll get back on this probably tomorrow night. The classifieds is the next thing high on the list.

Basically the "Articles" page is the home page now. If you click on Articles, you will see listings from Ebay. I have worked on that to get rid of most of the JUNK that was showing up before. I don't know why pictures aren't showing up but will be working on that next week. The listings are pretty darn good though.

Now you have a choice. Red, Green, Blue or Gray. Is there another one that would be popular to some of you? Not ONE of you. I can't create a different theme for everybody.

I also just added a gray/black theme. Folks, it takes a while to really do these right. I know that some of you want more color choices but it's not a quick and easy thing to do. I am willing to try and give you what I want but please be patient. Even the ones that are now available still need tweaking. Yes, I have tried to tone down the red a bit. I like it but I understand that it is too bright for some. You can check out the gray also.

Not obscured, Just entirely different. They change colors depending on whether or not the thread has new posts.

Just want to post a HUGE thanks for ChrisM for helping with the style edits on the site. I was working hard on the Red and then quickly through up a Blue but they weren't great. Chris sent me a PM offering some suggestions and I actually talked him into helping out. Really didn't have to talk him into it, he was more than willing to help. He started by cleaning up the VR Logo and then adding the color gradients and etc. to the headers. Also corrected some spacing and padding issues. He is just much better at that stuff than I am and saved me a lot of work Thanks much Chris. You are appreciated.
