  1. I'm usually free on the weekends but travel during the week. Would be happy to sync them for you. I doubt that the fuel filter is bad on a 2007 but with some of the gas we get today, it is possible. They are a pain to change. We can sync them first and see if that helps. One more thought that I just had. I only have one or two thoughts a week so this is very rare. What do you mean by "didn't want to run". If you were running in 5th gear at those speeds and expecting it to accelerate strongly, it's not going to happen. 5th is a true overdrive and at those speeds, you are going to need to downshift for any good hills, passing other cars, etc. At any rate, my cellular number is in my profile so give me a call sometime when you want to head this way. If you want to find somebody closer, there are some members nearer to you that might be willing to help. I don't know his schedule but I'm tagging @Dano in this post. Maybe he will see it and could lend a hand.
  2. I also did some research on them. If you go to the Indian forum, you will find a lot of praises but also a LOT of complaints about various things. HEAT is a big one that folks complain about. Probably no worse than my Harley but much worse than the Venture. Also some other fairly major issues and folks waiting a LONG time for the dealers to get repair parts and etc. New bike and related early model issues I'm sure but things to be aware of right now.
  3. The other way is to upload them to the VentureRider Photobucket page. There is a link in the upper menu bar in the drop down menu under "community".
  4. I'm in Oberlin, OH. Wish I had known you were sort of in the area and I could have done it for you. If you get up this way, I would be happy to. Not sure that's your problem though. Out of sync carbs will usually cause a bit of buzzing in the handlebars but I've not seen it to cause them to not want to run. You don't have your bike information in your header so I don't know the year model but you may consider looking at the gas filter.
  5. We just like white vehicles. I think that every car we have purchased for the past 20 years has been white. My last truck, the avalanche, was a sand color simply because I didn't find a white one at the time. By the way, we took the skis over to Berlin Lake today. Stayed out about 2 1/2 hours. It was OK but neither of us were a fan of that lake. Ramps were terrible and there are no places to eat anywhere around the lake. Not one we will go back to.
  6. Samson made some turn outs. Don't remember if they made turn downs or now. They were part of the pipe and could not be turned. I once had a set but they were WAY too loud for me. Also had a set of the Khomewerks where you could rotate the tips. I had those turned out also and liked them that way better than down. They were loud but not nearly as loud as the Samsons. I finally with with a pair of RSTD mufflers with the tips that would be turned in any direction. Liked them a lot. Some people have bought just the tips and drilled holes and mounted them on stock RSV mufflers.
  7. Find somebody with a Corbin and sit on it. I think you will find that it does NOT push you up on the tank.
  8. It was a long day yesterday. I bought these skis from a dealer in New Haven, MI. About 4 1/2 hours from home. Left here about 10:30 yesterday morning and got home with them about 10:30 last night. Plan to take them out later today. Bought them from http://www.vanderzeemotorplex.com Don't know much about this dealer but I can say that it was a very pleasant transaction. Some of the nicest folks I've ever dealt with.
  9. I agree that the seating position is entirely different. That's why I was personally much more comfortable on the second gen. That being said, I loved the backrest on my '88 also. I will also add that it worked fine with my wife on the passenger seat on both bikes. The '88 did have the Ventureline backrest.
  10. Not yet. Don't even know if they are available but if they are, I would sure consider it.
  11. I'll just say this. If not for the drivers backrest, I would just quit riding. Period. It's always the very first thing I add to a bike.
  12. I keep getting emails from you asking why you can't post. You are getting irritated because you say that I am NOT replying. I AM replying and have answered you three times. You can't post because your membership has expired. You need to click on "settings" in the upper right corner of the forum and then scroll down to "paid subscriptions" in the left menu to renew.
  13. I wouldn't expect any of them to be called the International Rally. I don't think he said that either. Just asked if it could be extended and any of the others could be also if somebody wanted to.
  14. No, you didn't say too much at all and your input is appreciated. They have been held various places. Arkansas, Wyoming, Colorado, Alabama, Indiana, New York, Illinois, Ontario Canada...... Probably missing some but that's a good sample.
  15. I'll answer a couple of the questions so far. As for starting a thread asking people to suggest a location and etc. I think we have done that every single year. The problem is that there is never a HUGE majority of one place over another and many just choose places that are a shorter distance for them. The biggest thing is that a LOT of people have good ideas but few ever step up to the plate and offer to organize it. As for the highest attendance. I'm not 100% sure but it was probably Colorado Springs. We had a great crowd there.
  16. I've never tried one but people on the Road Glide forum that have them swear by them. Now there are two camps in regards to how they look. Some like it, some HATE it but most agree that it works well.
  17. Folks, if somebody is on the VentureRider Facebook page then they should also be a member here. In this case, that is indeed the case. @Bob Myers is a supporting member. I just tagged him by putting the @ in front of his username so he should get a notification about this discussion.
  18. LOL....that would not be a problem. A lot of people already show up on Thursday.
  19. Craig, I know that you are a Sea-Doo fan and I did look at them but after doing a good bit of research, just decided the the Yamaha was a better fit for us. If I was in an area where I would be doing a lot of salt water riding, I would have given it more thought. The closed loop cooling on the Sea-Doo might have swayed my decision in that case. Yea, unfortunately Harley doesn't make them. I'll go ahead and say it before somebody else does.....something about water pollution.
  20. I think that we need to have an honest discussion regarding any future International Rallies. At this point, I'm thinking about not having one at all. The reason is very simple. The past 3 or 4 have been very poorly attended. The various organizers spend a lot of time and poor their hearts into making these happen. If you have never helped organize one of these things, you have no idea how much work goes into it. It seems that our regional meet and eats do better. Maybe we should concentrate more on those and forget about an International. I'm going to leave it right there for now and let the discussion begin.
  21. Yes they are.
  22. Well both the skis are pretty much perfect now. I traded them both in and will pick up the new ones on Friday. They are fun for me but Eileen absolutely loves riding them and that is the most important thing. I decided that I wanted some that I wouldn't be worried about leaving us stranded somewhere. So, Friday I will pick up two brand new 2015 Yamaha VX Cruisers. These are not high performance skis but we are too old to be high performance riders. They are just a few steps above entry level. 1052cc inline four strokes, fuel injected and with some nice features like cruise control, no wake mode, fingertip reverse, etc. Top speed around 55 MPH...maybe 60 on perfect water. It's all we need. They will be on a brand new two place trailer. So...I'm riding a Yamaha again.
  23. Looks like you and Julie had a great weekend. We should have joined you but had already made other plans. We love Cook Forest and have been there several times. Will have to check out that place. We usually stay at McBeth Cabins. Glad you had a good ride and hope that new Corbin works out for you. Eileen and I DID get a little ride in on Friday. Rode down to Indian Lake in western OH near the Indiana border. Left about 10:00 in the morning, had lunch on the lake at Cranberry Resort, rode around the lake and then headed back home. Total trip was about 340 miles. Nice day ride.
  24. Increasing the rev limiter is very easy with the Dyna. You just flip some dip switches. I THINK it was set on 7500 when you got it though and somewhere around 7250 or 7500 is as high as they recommend unless you install heavy duty valve springs. I never did that and it why it is not set higher.
