  1. Be aware that many Internet Service providers are having issues today. VentureRider seems to be OK at this time but a lot of major sites have been shut down due to Denial of Service attacks. Seems to be primarily on the east coast but they really don't know what is going on yet. I seem to be able to access the Internet but PayPal and some other sites are up and down. My personal email has also been down for a large part of the day.
  2. Not my thing but it is pretty cool. http://www.foxnews.com/auto/2016/10/21/triumphs-new-bonneville-bobber-is-factory-custom-with-hardtail-looks.html
  3. Well, I have always been adamantly against the idea but I posted last weekend that I lost a chunk of tread out of my rear tire. Ironmike took his wheel with the BF Goodrich tire off his RSV when he traded it in and told me to take it and try it. So....I guess I will. Have to do some reading or talk to him to find out what pressure was working best for him.
  4. He and all the family will be in our prayers. Glad to hear that things are looking good.
  5. LOL...we don't care where you are from and your question is fine. I promise you that I am calm. Even if you were a spammer, I would still be calm. Spammers are gone quicker than it takes them to spam anyway. No offense intended but when people put in fake locations and etc., it makes you wonder.
  6. By the way. I just looked up the IP Address that this person registered from. The profile says they are from LA and the state LA. Another clue by the way. The IP address is in Egypt though. The email address is a freebie from Yahoo...which I realize a lot of people use but just one of many things that I look at.
  7. LOL...trial member, no check to cash. Listen, this is the watering hole and the question is fine. I can tell you though that after running this site for well over 10 years I've learned one or two things. It is not ALWAYS the case...maybe...but most of the time when a new trial member registers and shows no type of motorcycle in their profile and then immediately asks a question that has absolutely nothing to do with what the site is about, it ends up being a spammer. Almost 100% of the time. I hope that is not the case this time. They way it typically unfolds though is that a couple of innocuous posts are made in an effort appear normal and then come the links to whatever they are trying to sell. We'll see. I hope I am wrong.
  8. Agree with MIke. The later model will work perfectly. Not sure it's actually any better though. The Hagon is rebuildable but I've never used it or the Works. Both get great reviews. I understand what you mean about it being non-adjustable but that's not a big deal to me. I usually don't ever change mine anyway. If the day comes that I need a new shock on my '05, I will go with one of the aftermarket models.
  9. OK...help me understand. You join a MOTORCYCLE forum and your FIRST post is to ask about Halloween decorations? I'm sure that somebody will have some suggestions but it just seems a bit strange.
  10. I can assure you that I was focused. Really wasn't that nervous because I felt I could control it if I kept my speed reasonable. My wife was a nervous wreck though. I can assure you that both hands were on the grips the entire time.
  11. Some of these were pretty much stock with the original motors but if you look carefully you will see that some have been beefed up with newer and more powerful ones. The nice red one in the second picture is one example. It has a V-Twin Briggs engine. Not sure about the HP on that one but one guy spoke of having 35 HP. That's a lot for those scooters. He said that the record top speed in their club is just over 100 MPH. Several of these had the V-Twins.
  12. Yes, added it a couple of days ago. Thought that some might find it handy.
  13. They were all old restored Cushmans. Some Cushman club. Really nice old scooters.
  14. I would be more than willing to try the Elite 4 but it doesn't appear that they make them in the right size. At least nothing for the rear. That being the case, I will likely go with the Commander II.
  15. As we sat in a parking lot yesterday trying to find a tire for my bike, this motorcycle gang pulled in. A little scary but they turned out to be very nice people and even gave us some numbers to call in our search for the tire. They did have some nice bikes though.
  16. Fantastic weather today. Eileen and I along with Motive and his wife Julie and a couple that I had not met before decided to ride down to Waldo, OH for their famous bologna sandwiches. It was a beautiful day and we were really enjoying the ride but as we pulling into Shelby, OH my bike suddenly felt very rough and there was a lot of wobble at low speed. Pulled into a parking lot and what did I find? I THINK it may be time for a new rear tire. This is a Dunlop. Not sure how many miles on it or how well inflation was watched before I got the bike. The bike only had about 18,000 miles on it and only about 21,000 now. They are not the original tires because these are the whitewalls. I have no idea when they were install though. Oh well, I didn't care much for the whitewalls anyway and it was certainly getting time for a new front one so now I will just do them both. I wasn't able to find a tire today so believe it not, we rode this one the 50 miles back home. SLOWLY though.
  17. One that I hear more and more in response to "I'm Sorry" is "You're OK". I hate that worse than no problem.
  18. OH...there was never a consideration to add politics to the mix. Not going to happen.
  19. LOL...don't hurt yourself there Dan. It actually WAS missing. Somehow it got messed up and I had to put it back.
  20. OHHH...THAT. Yea...it's still there. Right beside "Contribution Actions". It's called "My Search Links" Uh yea...it's ALWAYS been there. It didn't ACCIDENTLY get turned off for a few days...no way that I could EVER have done that.
  21. OK folks, I THINK I have this issue resolved so now you can please let me know if you see the errors again.
  22. I have been thinking of this for a while but don't know if there would be any interest. Though this site is primarily about our motorcycles, we have a huge wealth of knowledge among the members here. There are often times that people ask about everything from home appliances, A/C, everything you can think of. I've thought about creating a new area called product recommendations or something like that. Maybe sub-categories within it for Cars/Trucks, Major Appliances, Small Appliances, Computers, Phones, whatever. I thought about this again last weekend when I decided that it was time to buy a new electric razor. Mine was still working but was not holding a charge as long as it once did and was getting noisier all the time. Here's the thing though, it is 18 years old! I have owned a few electric razors over the years but they typically last maybe 3 years. The one that lasted all these years was a Panasonic. It gave the best shave and in 18 years I never replaced the blades, foil, battery or anything else. Guess what I replace it with? Of course another Panasonic. If it is half as good I will still be happy. So what do you think? Would such an area be useful or do we just use the Watering Hole for such things?
  23. I don't doubt you Dan but it must have been a long time ago. Nothing has changed in more than a year that I know of. The only way I know of from the header is to click on your name at the upper right of the screen. That will open your profile and there is a "My Activity" that shows your posts.
  24. Puc is right....the place you sign in goes away when you are signed in. As for finding your own posts, I'm not sure what you are talking about but one way is to just click on your name at the top left of any of your posts and there is a link there.
  25. All done.
