  1. Oh...and I don't understand your first question at all.
  2. I'm not sure what you mean. If you click "Quote" in one of your own posts, then that is what you will get, a copy of that post. The purpose of the quote button, same as the old site, is to quote something another member has posted. For example, if you are reading a list of news posts and there is ONE that you wish to reply to, you hit quote and then people know which post your are replying to. Otherwise, if you jut post at the bottom of the thread, it may be confusing as to which post your are addressing
  3. The lake is actually pretty large. We were down at the tail end of it. Never actually even made it to the main part. As for water on the boat, man, you don't know how to live. The evenings were quiet chilly. Felt great to jump in that hot tub. As for the cheesecake, it wasn't around long enough to get a picture.
  4. I haven't found a replacement for the state flags. I've found one for the country flags but not the state. I'm still looking.
  5. OK...you can now give Thanks, Like, Etc. for a post. You won't see it on your own post because a member can't rate their own post but you can on anybody else's. Just click on the heart at the lower right of the post.
  6. I don't think you can yet. I'll be looking into that though.
  7. Actually, they are slides and both Brad and I DID go down them. I think we have a video somewhere but not on my phone.
  8. LOL...you are entirely correct about that my OLD friend.

    Gallery

One thing different about this software is that you cannot link to URLs in the Gallery. You ave to upload your pictures from your computer to this site. I actually like it better this way because I hate linked files in the Gallery, the posts, etc. The reason is that there have been a number of good tech articles written where the pictures were linked to as URL off this site. They ended up getting deleted and now they can[t be found. So, I say all of that to say this. If you have a gallery, please check it and make sure that your pictures are there. If not you will need to upload new ones. I will start deleting empty galleries but it will take a good bit of time.
  10. You know, I honestly got no pictures of the houseboat. Maybe Squidley did? I'm not sure.
  11. That's OK. But the fact is, we have a lot of members who are not on Facebook, don't want to be on Facebook, and never will be. So I added it for those who want it.
  12. Have added a chat room. It may need some tweaking at some point but it is now fully functional. Link in the menu bar.
  13. OK folks, I got back home around 9:30 last night. Taking off for a week really put me behind in my business; I have a ton of appointments, service calls, and installs this week. However, in what spare time I can find, I will be continuing to work on the new site. There is much to be done and It will be slow but I don't see having to take it offline during these changes. Some things on my list are adding a chat room, adding a home page (though I'm not even sure that we need one), setting up the "membership" button for those wanting to become supporting members, etc. A lot to do. There are a few features that likely will never come back. They were more the "fun" type of gadgets and some are not available for this software and some are simply not worth the cost. I'll just take them one at a time and go from there. I would also like to extend a personal not of thanks to Josh. You may or may not have seen his name pop up, I don't think that I have. The fact is though, I hired him to help with the migration fo all our data because this was a major update and I wan't to do all I could to ensure that we didn't lose our old posts, tech articles, etc. Josh was instrumental in getting everything moved over to the new software. I'm sorry you didn't get any warning. That was my fault. I was busy purchasing the new software, getting the license keys and etc. to Josh, much more. He told me to let him know when I was ready to start. I sent him the license key and login information to the server and I guess he took this as a "GO". I had intended to give you all a warning but it just didn't happen. The reason it was down so long was the migration of all the old data to the new data. Once it was installed and ready to go, it took almost 2 days to migrate all our old information and the site had to be offline during that time. So anyway, we are getting there. The site should stay up. Maybe offline for a few minutes at some point but I don't think so. We should be ok. So please be patient.
  14. Lol. No scoot. Wish I did. The roads were amazing getting here. We pulled the boat down with us though and some friends pulled my wave runners so we have a boat and the wave runners tied up to the houseboat. Some of these curves were not especially suited to pulling a boat though. We rented at East Port Marina near Alpine, TN and it is in the middle of nowhere. It’s nice here but the water is low this time of the year and very muddy. Beautiful here but will probably return to Cumberland next year.
  15. There is a ton to do but it will have to wait until I get home. I’m sitting on a houseboat at Dale Hollow lake in Tennessee. Not great service here. Lots of customization and a new home page on the list.
  16. I'm showing all forums. This is really the URL until I get the home page rebuilt. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/ I'm also seeing most or the Gallery pictures. Some are blank because they were linked instead of uploaded to the site. That no longer works.
  17. Ok folks. We are back but there is a ton of work for me to do. I will be adding features over the next weeks but not much for a few days as I’m presently on vacation. Sorry about the drastic change but it really wasn’t my choice. More soon
  18. Yes. You will have to fabricate a bracket though. Easy job.
  19. Any of the turning mufflers will. Electra Glide, Road Glide, etc. Be aware that there were a couple of years where Harley put the catalytic convertors in the mufflers, you'll want to avoid those.
  20. That appears to be a great buy for somebody wanting a first gen.
  21. The biggest mistake people make is trying to upload pictures that are too large. Most phones now days take huge pictures. They need to be resized to no larger than 1024 x 768.
  22. No, Yamaha never offered it on any year of the RSV. There were a couple of aftermarket models available so maybe they put one of those on it. Also, I sold a lot of them that I made from First Generation Venture stands. There is a write-up in the technical library that shows how it's done.
  23. Looks good. I like the black seat much better than the tan one.
  24. Page 4-93 of the service manual states 129 ft. lbs.
  25. Not the same issue but here is a thread that shows a good bit of information about the shifter and etc. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?138861-Did-anyone-else-have-a-2nd-gen-lose-4th-amp-5th-gear&highlight=Drum
