This software does not recommend TapaTalk due to security and many other issues. They do not officially support it. That being said, TapaTalk tells me that they are developing a plug-in that will enable it to work but say that it's 2 to 3 weeks out. This forum actually scales automatically and appears to work very well on phones without TapaTalk. Have any of you tried it. It seems very good to me.

No, we had a member map on the old site also. So far, I’ve found no solution for the flags.

For 12 years, I worked for a Hong Kong based company importing and selling automated electroplating machines. Primarily for plating circuit boards but also general metal finishing. The macherery ran on Programmable Logic Controllers, mostly Allen Bradley and Omron but the operators interface was all on Unix so I had to do a lot of work with it. I later installed a version of it on one of my computers and it worked fine but sometimes getting certain programs to work was a royal pain. Mind you this was all close to 20 years ago. There have been a lot of changes since then. I do most overlying on my MacBook Pro now. Been using them for several years now and can honestly say that I've had zero issues and not a single crash. I do have Parallels installed so run Windows 10 on the rare occasion that I need a Windows program that I can't find, inexpensively, for the Mac.

OK folks, I am done. If you find that your membership is expired and you think that it shouldn't be, please send me a message, email, etc. and I will look into it.

Still working on this. It is a long and tedious process that involves going through a full year of PayPal memership payments, getting that info for each member, going to their profile and moving them back to the supporting members group. I have done 8 months so far, so 4 more months to go. Should finish it later today.
-
Well, not that small. I know that some have lost their membership status. It was due to a bad cron task that I added this morning to sort the member, expired members, etc. I am working on it and hope to have it all back to normal soon.

I've added a new "Members Map" and the link is in the menu bar at the top called "Community Map". You don't need to do anything, it will add you automatically if your country, state, etc. are in your profile. It will take a few days before it adds everybody. It only adds 100 per day due to API key restrictions and etc. So please be patient. Also, only Supporting members will be listed.

They do expire after some time though. I’ll have to look , don’t remember how long.

No, very likely my comprehension skills. Or lack there of.
-
Maybe I just figured it out. Commented on means that you actually posted a response, Reacted to means that you click on the "Like, Thanks, etc" button.
-
Oh...and I don't understand your first question at all.
-
I'm not sure what you mean. If you click "Quote" in one of your own posts, then that is what you will get, a copy of that post. The purpose of the quote button, same as the old site, is to quote something another member has posted. For example, if you are reading a list of news posts and there is ONE that you wish to reply to, you hit quote and then people know which post your are replying to. Otherwise, if you jut post at the bottom of the thread, it may be confusing as to which post your are addressing

The lake is actually pretty large. We were down at the tail end of it. Never actually even made it to the main part. As for water on the boat, man, you don't know how to live. The evenings were quiet chilly. Felt great to jump in that hot tub. As for the cheesecake, it wasn't around long enough to get a picture.

I haven't found a replacement for the state flags. I've found one for the country flags but not the state. I'm still looking.
-
OK...you can now give Thanks, Like, Etc. for a post. You won't see it on your own post because a member can't rate their own post but you can on anybody else's. Just click on the heart at the lower right of the post.
-
I don't think you can yet. I'll be looking into that though.

Actually, they are slides and both Brad and I DID go down them. I think we have a video somewhere but not on my phone.
-
LOL...you are entirely correct about that my OLD friend.

One thing different about this software is that you cannot link to URLs in the Gallery. You ave to upload your pictures from your computer to this site. I actually like it better this way because I hate linked files in the Gallery, the posts, etc. The reason is that there have been a number of good tech articles written where the pictures were linked to as URL off this site. They ended up getting deleted and now they can[t be found. So, I say all of that to say this. If you have a gallery, please check it and make sure that your pictures are there. If not you will need to upload new ones. I will start deleting empty galleries but it will take a good bit of time.

You know, I honestly got no pictures of the houseboat. Maybe Squidley did? I'm not sure.

That's OK. But the fact is, we have a lot of members who are not on Facebook, don't want to be on Facebook, and never will be. So I added it for those who want it.

Have added a chat room. It may need some tweaking at some point but it is now fully functional. Link in the menu bar.

OK folks, I got back home around 9:30 last night. Taking off for a week really put me behind in my business; I have a ton of appointments, service calls, and installs this week. However, in what spare time I can find, I will be continuing to work on the new site. There is much to be done and It will be slow but I don't see having to take it offline during these changes. Some things on my list are adding a chat room, adding a home page (though I'm not even sure that we need one), setting up the "membership" button for those wanting to become supporting members, etc. A lot to do. There are a few features that likely will never come back. They were more the "fun" type of gadgets and some are not available for this software and some are simply not worth the cost. I'll just take them one at a time and go from there. I would also like to extend a personal not of thanks to Josh. You may or may not have seen his name pop up, I don't think that I have. The fact is though, I hired him to help with the migration fo all our data because this was a major update and I wan't to do all I could to ensure that we didn't lose our old posts, tech articles, etc. Josh was instrumental in getting everything moved over to the new software. I'm sorry you didn't get any warning. That was my fault. I was busy purchasing the new software, getting the license keys and etc. to Josh, much more. He told me to let him know when I was ready to start. I sent him the license key and login information to the server and I guess he took this as a "GO". I had intended to give you all a warning but it just didn't happen. The reason it was down so long was the migration of all the old data to the new data. Once it was installed and ready to go, it took almost 2 days to migrate all our old information and the site had to be offline during that time. So anyway, we are getting there. The site should stay up. Maybe offline for a few minutes at some point but I don't think so. We should be ok. So please be patient.

Lol. No scoot. Wish I did. The roads were amazing getting here. We pulled the boat down with us though and some friends pulled my wave runners so we have a boat and the wave runners tied up to the houseboat. Some of these curves were not especially suited to pulling a boat though. We rented at East Port Marina near Alpine, TN and it is in the middle of nowhere. It’s nice here but the water is low this time of the year and very muddy. Beautiful here but will probably return to Cumberland next year.
