    Okay, I just received verification that the 2 nd gear is bad.

    Could it be that the 2nd gear has already been fixed? As noted above by Prairiehammer, the final drive is from an MKII. Or would someone just change out the final drive?

    Forgive my gullibility but Damon did respond to my question of whether or not his video covers the 2nd gear fix. Here is his response "No,The video only covers the installation of the transmission sub assemblies to the lower case, not each gear being installed onto each shaft.

    Instead of taking my frame to be sandblasted and powder coated I simply used my wire wheel on drill and then wiped down with prep wipe. Decided to use VHT high heat paint designed for chassis. Covered was good and it also has a built in primer with anti rust. I will hit it with a couple more coats and then attention turns to engine!

    Okay, frame back from welder. He verified what everyone here claimed that the weld was not good! He rewelded and also welded in some support per Randy's suggestion. what do u think?

    He's just fixing welds and waiting on reinforcing. Yes, has your pics. Well, I'm making progress. Engine is free. Will cover any holes needed with plastic then power wash time. What is this big black plastic box that has hoses going to engine ?

    I will clean it carefully by hand. I'm hoping to flip back over and continue strip down this weekend. Ebay frame at Welder's now .

    I can get my $40 back for frame but not the $100 the swindler charged for shipping. I've decided to get the ebay frame checked and reinforced. I have a friend that will do it for free. While I have the bike flipped, can I pressure wash the engine to clean it??

    Flipped bike. Here are pics of cracks in frame. Guys, this frame is toast!! Evidence of welding. This thing is cracked badly all over the place. I'm thinking have the other frame reinforced big time. This one is all out of whack!! thoughts?

    Okay, I removed the swing arm bolts and rear shock . Will this slide out now or do I need to do anything else?
