Reserve lighting unit?
s.tyler58 replied to s.tyler58's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I just know that when the warning lamp comes on I have to switch back and forth. Both work fine until the warning light comes on and then I have nothing until I switch. ...in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye. -

Reserve lighting unit?
s.tyler58 replied to s.tyler58's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If the relay were working, why would I always have to switch from high to low and back and forth whenever the headlamp warning light comes on. Either high beam or low beam has always work but never consistently always having to switch back and forth ...in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye. -
Reserve lighting unit?

I put some pics of the switch innards in my post "Blowing the 15Amp..." this afternoon. Do you see anything in there to be concerned about? That line checked out good after remounting it. No grounding until I plugged in the relay, then it went straight to ground. ...in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye. -

That is some good information! Thank you thank you thank you! I have been running with either high or low beam and the indicator light issues since I bought this thing and now I know how to bypass it and get rid of the problems! Thank you again. I don't know what I'd do without all you people! I just wish we lived in one town! Course you'd all get sick of me ...in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye. -

See? that's why I ask you guys instead of Google. But I was wrong again! Problem is not the reserve lighting unit but this thing that sits below it. I could identify it and name it but you guys are great at that. ...in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye. -
What does the reserve lighting unit do? That's where I get a problem right now. I've plugged in everything and tested one at a time until I got to that. That's the last thing to plug in that's on the bike with the dashboard and everything still removed ...in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.

Microgendx.com Identify every bacteria in the National Health and CDC database by it's DNA. I know they have a rep in Houston area. Testing results within 24 hours complete antibiotic suggestions for treatment all those bacteria. Don't give up until they've done this unless they've already done DNA testing to identify everything in the infection. I don't know how they would get to a sample of the infection for testing though. Definitely praying for you all! $190.00 test. Initial results in 24 hrs. Complete results with treatment suggestions within 2-4 days Microgendx.com ...in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.

I have the dash pulled out and the higher wiring harness pulled out and now I know for positive the hardness is okay. Now I'm going to start plugging everything in one at a time and testing as each one is added back to the string. Just like about 10 of you have told me I was supposed to do from the beginning. I'm nothing if not stubborn I guess. I'll head back there Right after a little nap. Zzzz ...in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.

My son calls it old man strength. Very deceptive. Reminds me of the time I pulled up behind two cars at a left turn signal and the guy in front didn't go and the kids in the car between us we're yelling crap at him. This looked like 65 or 70 year old man got out of his car walk back to the kids, the kid got out of his car and the old man cold-cocked him and dropped him right there on the island. Got back in his car and off he went. ...in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.

I'm thinking I might go to soft sided waterproof saddlebags and just toss these tired old won't seal clamshell ones that are on mine. ...in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.

Are you sure you're not 92 years old? Your selection of artists and videos makes me think you're lying about your true age. I go back as far as, Camp Granada, the Streak, Chicken fat was our gym song in elementary school. Thanks. Yeah I read through that yesterday while I had the laptop out and saw those links two similar threads on my page. The Tapatalk app on my phone doesn't show all those kind of things that the website does. I read a couple others it sounds like I just need to start opening up more bundles and see what I find. These were all covered in a black tube that looked fine on the outside once we stripped It Off, hello! I've got more time today so I'm going to eat a little breakfast and head over to the shop and just keep plugging away and unplugging and replugging. On the bright side, I made 9 beautifully soldered wire joints last night! ...in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.

My bikes too loud for talking on a telephone, even in my full coverage helmet. I'm old, kids grown, I don't need to talk on the phone until I want to talk on the phone. Plus having voicemail to text from Verizon means if there's no message left I didn't need to pick it up. Never was a slave to this thing except when on call for work. 24 hours a day 7 days a week for 23 years. Course in the old days it was a tape recorder to the phone, then there was the pagers that just gave you a phone number, then a pager that would allow up to 126 characters. My first cell phone was in a bag with handset like the old home phones. But, if I'm calling someone I expect them to pick up by the second ring! Hahaha! ...in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.

The Bluetooth adapter will play music for about 2 and 1/2 hours per charge. I bought three of them and they recharge in about 25 minutes ...in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.

I picked up this Bluetooth adapter for a buck and a half or so on a website called wish. I plug my favorite no microphone headphones into the Bluetooth adapter for music while I can do anything else I want with my phone. But I'm not trying to hook to a GPS system on my 83. ...in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.

First thing I did when I bought it was to replace it. I'm going home. Tonight I repaired those melted wires and put the dash back in. I plugged everything in, turned the key, blew the fuse. Sent a few choice expletives in the air, thrashed my arms wildly because I don't throw things anymore , stamped my feet a few times, and now I'm leaving. This silly thing has frustrated me at every turn. I will crate it up. Who wants it? ...in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.
