I dont know how good this bike lift is, but it looks like a pretty good deal if its halfways decent.

TOTAL COST does not include any taxes or freight charges.

These charges will be added to your invoice at the time of shipping.

Shipping costs can run right up there...... $$$$ :whistling:

  2. Sorry to hear about the loss of your friends guys.

I know the feeling well, for in years past, I to have lost close coworkers.

You never know how one touches your life until they are gone, then you realize that hey, I really miss that person...

The woman who sits next to me came back to work after being off for 3 weeks.

She is presently taking Chemo treatments, loosing her hair, but is standing proud and strong coming back to work and trying to do what she can while dealing with the sickness brought on by the chemo treatments. She has 3 more treatments to go and hopefully its over. One minute she is doing fine and the next she is sick and feeling down.

God bless her and God bless you two.

But Eck and I did catch GT Mustang that had a head start on us in Eureka Springs. So you can't be too slow Eck!! Only because AllanH said I couldn't do it......

    Dale

:rotf:= I remember that day well Dale...As soon as I heard Allan say you couldnt catch that mustang, I knew the race was on...I down shifted with you and off we went..

Yes, I was riding by myself and you had your wife on yours and you still caught up to that Mustang...

But hey, deep down, we both know we took some "chances" to pull it off and we all were lucky that day.. :thumbsup2:

I'm not wanting to hijack the thread, but where was that photo taken?

It sure wasnt in northern Ga near Helen where I tried to catch my UPS truck...

Swifty, I'd give it one heck of a try to keep up with you anytime......but like I said, Im certain it would be you that would win..but I dont think you would have time to set up for a camera shot waiting on me to catch up..:rasberry:

  5. Well Swifty,

I must say the riders level of courage and skills including the bikes handling capabilities play a large part on how a bike is controlled wether on a straight away or in twisties.

I am sure if a bet was placed between us, you would win...

I mean hell, I cant even keep up with a UPS truck, so I know I dont have a chance against you..:buttkick:

  6. Hey, Eck. Yes the notch is for the lid to hinge open. I tried to get change the design to a side open lid to avoid the large notch, but the aluminum fab guys already had the large compartment sheared and broke when I got to it.

Thats a nice looking trailer bud. I like the forward compartment too. Can kep thing separated a little. Does it have a cooler box to go with it yet..:whistling:

I made a cooler rack for my bike (see attached photo).

I may make some changes to it this winter. I noticed that every time I went to get a cold one out of the cooler, the cooler was fairly dirty from all the road grime...

Im thinking of expanding the rack size to accomodate an enclosed hand made box with a lid on it, that my cooler can slide into..This will do two things..keep the cooler clean in case I want to take it off and put it on a picnic table and it will also help insulate the cooler to keep things cold.

Being at the rear of the bike the exhaust does expel a lot of heat in that area and to add the 90 degree plus weather I ride in the cooler itself does not stay as cold as it should.

And many people think Im carrying around a car battery on the back of my bike...

  7. Cant help you much on the rad sofa seat question, but I do wish you a safe journey and ride on your trip.

Im about to leave this morning for Florida (Disnsey then Sarasota) for the holidays, but am not taking the bike..got to take the cage this time around..:sign13:

btw, there is a movie about this...it's very good I think.

Yep, that is where I saw it and have tried to live it since. Great movie..!

Amazingly, there are still people who have not seen or ever heard about "pass is forward", that is the only reason I mentioned it.

I have yet to meet anyone on this site that doesnt "pass it forward" in some fashion or another and I think that is what makes this family special..

I know that this is a commonly held belief but with modern batteries, there is no possibility of leakage to damp concrete to discharge a battery. In the old days, battery cases were a hard molded rubber with high carbon content that could allow some leakage but this is not the case with the high dielectric value for today's polymer cases.

Keeping the battery charged is very important for the longevity of your battery. A battery tender is a good idea. I tend to just leave it in the bike and put it on a slow (500 ma) charge for a few hours every few weeks. No problems so far.

i want to thank eck for offering to stop by on his vacation to help. this is a great site.

Your most welcome ....I encourage you (and others) to "pay-it forward" ..

For those who have never heard of this or understand what it means, the idea is very simple.

You do something good for other people. These people cannot 'repay' you...

They are encouraged to pay-it-forward. In turn, doing something good for someone else. And so on and so forth.

    The mathematics is simple.

If I'll do something constructive for 3 people and these 3 people in turn do something for 3 other people (each) - we have already impacted 9 people in total. These 9 people will make a difference in 27 people's life, which in their turn will touch 81 people's hearts... See how fast it grows?

Of course, there will be people that break the chain. However, others still, will reach out and touch more people than you could possibly imagine.

lets all start the new year off using this principle to make the world a better place.

  11. Being an 07 model, you might not want to take the chance of breaking anything and might want to take it back to your dealer... its covered under warrenty, and if THEY break anything, THEY pay for it..not you.....

(The Dealer may have installed them incorrectly in the first place during final assembly)..

  12. Jim,

Not sure I can help you, but I will be traveling through Florida next week.

    (Thanksgiving week).

I just looked at your profile and see you live in Tampa.

I can make a stop at your place to see if I can fix it for free...

    Here are our plans:

I will be in Orlando Sunday, leaving there and taking a ride into Tampa so we can go south over that big bridge with our grand daughter, and continue south to Sarasota Weds to see my parents, then leaving Sarasota Friday coming back through Tampa and arriving back home in Huntsville Saturday.

I'm going to be in Tampa twice on my trip and I would be most happy to help see if I can get your radio working.

It may be the wire harness connection that is very common and I also have the dilectric grease that is needed for the connectors.

We would have to split your fairing which takes me about 5 - 8 minutes to do..

I can bring all tools needed if you want my help.

Just send me an email reply if you want me to stop by to help. :thumbsup2:

  13.

I don't recall a red wire on the bike when I saw it last. I had gone up to remove the wiring for my GPS and at that time, there was nothing. You're probably right - they may have started to take the passing lamps off (since that was damage that wasn't easily hidden) and it got too complicated for them!!! LOL

Look to the left of the ignitoin key slot and the red wire is right under the handle bars in the attached photo (copied from the photos on ebay)
