I will be in Orlando Sunday, leaving there and arriving in Sarasota Weds afternoon, leaving Sarasota Friday and arriving back home in Huntsville Saturday.

If Im going to be any where close to where you live let me know and Ill stop to help you..

You can send me a P-Email if yuo want with the city you live in ,and if I am coming that way, I will bring my carb tune and tools and make a stop at your place to see if I can help you.

    :thumbsup2:

  2.

Hi Eck Rhonda said they were pretty cool looking.

She wanted to know if she had to wear something under them ?

Guess this all depends on "you".........:whistling: :rasberry:

SHe could cut the "white section" out them first..........:cool10:

  3. Scott,

If you need any help on how to change out the headlight, I'll be happy to help you.

I walk you though it step by step

come down to your place to change it out for you..or

You can come to my place and I will do it here...dont matter to me..

The only two differences you would end up with is:

    (1) The face of the head light (forward most part of glass) is "flat" where as the stock headlight face has a "contoured" outward curvature to it..

    (2) a cheaper replacement headlight lens ($19.95 v/s $180 bucks) and you use your old headlight bulb..

  4. Now I don't know about the rest of the contry, but here in Oklahoma they put out the construction signs and cones, then apparently go on vacation for the next 6 months before doing any work. Also, most of the time they don't work on weekends and holidays (or if it's raining, too hot, too cold, too windy, etc.)

I think what we have here is only ONE group of construction workers and they all have to travel back and forth to the different construction sites between all the states... this is why you never see them after placing thier signs & cones up..

See...placeing thier signs and cones up is like a dog peeing on a fire hydrant...

they do this to "claim/ mark" thier territory..:thumbsup2:

  5. Just an idea here Jryan....

You might be able to use the "rubber ends / stompers" that are on the end of a pair of crutches. You can find these in bags of two or four at your local pharmacy store for about 5 bucks...

Lowes and Home Depot also carry rubber ends that go onto furniture leg ends.

You can cut excess rubber off and just use the lower solid part (bottom portion / part).

You can then drill a small hole thru it, add a flat washer and screw it to your seat..

or just use adhesvie if you wish to glue it on your seat.

One other idea is stopping along the highway and picking up a small piece of recap tire and cut / make a rubber stopper for free........glue it on..heck, no one will see it anyway..

Dont know if this helps you , but was just sharing a thought I had..:confused24:

  6. Eck, if your really interested in parting with your bike, I will trade you my 1st gen and my VStar for it................:duck::duck::duck:

I would give you or any VR member one hell of a deal...but I must have cash...and it must equal the same asking price as Jamie... $13.500

Just looking at mine anyone would know I have more than that in it...same as Wingman does.

I can not make a deal with Wingman using two bikes :whistling:.

  7. Looking for good mechanic for 2nd gen venture in central Jersey.

    Dobie,

I looked at your profile to get an idea (city) as to where you live so I could do a search to see who may live close to you. But you didnt list a city, so I cant help you by doing this search.

However, you can search by clicking on this thread, and then page through the pages to see who lives close to you in NJ who may be a mechanic and able to help you.

This link takes you to ALL the VR members who live in NJ. Hope it helps you find what your looking for bud.

  8. Brake pad,

Sure glad you got it figured out, and your able to ride with out fear of it breaking down again.

I remember when I was on my way to the Ft. Collins rally, I spent the nigth in Manhatten Ks. to meet up with Freebird and others. The next morning, as we all pulled out of the motel parking lot, my bike seemed to spit and sputter a little. Then when everyone took off from the first light (I was tail gunner) I took off with them and as soon as I shifted from first to second, my bike stalled..It would turn over with the key, but would not start.

After removing the gas tank, and checking electrical system with a meter, I turned the key and it started, yet I didnt fix anything....

I rode the entire trip to Ft. Collins, and all the way back home to Alabama. Not one time did it burp on me after that incident. Then about two weeks after I got back home, I pulled off the road I live onto the main highway, shifted to second gear and it stalled again... it was the fuel pump on mine too which was replaced under warrenty..

That was around 23k to 26k when mine went out.

I have hear of few others Ventures having fuel pump problems too, but not a whole lot of them.
