No way would I want that with the way those welds look either. Like cowpuc says the idea may be ok. Another thing is that it could be top heavy depending on what you put in it and on how wide the wheels are. For the cost you may still be better off getting a HF trailer and car top it. Larry

For many deer hunting season has been and is still in effect. I got a reminder of that this morning while on the way to a dentist appointment for Joyce. One second I'm driving down the road and the next I'm playing bumper tag with a doe. Fortunately we were in my truck so the only real damage was to the bumper. The deer managed to high tail it into the brush but I'm sure it didn't fair very well. Be safe out there folks. Larry l

I've had two so far. A 08 Sportage with the V-6 engine then traded that in for a 11 Sorento with the bigger V-6. I had about 60,000 on the Sportage when it was traded . Never had any problems other than regular maintenance stuff. The Sorento has about 14,000 on it now. Only reason for trading was to get a stronger engine for towing the trike, plus getting more room in the bigger SUV. It gets me 27-32 mpg except for towing then really takes a hit there. Last spring I replaced a 14 year old Dodge pickup with a Nissan Frontier so that gets all of the towing dutys now. Larry

Well I survived the Doc's scalpel so now it's healing time. Yesterday I was pretty tired and sore from the operation but feeling much better today. Doc said the operation was a success so will take his word for it for now. It'll take a couple to 3 weeks before I do any testing before I know how well it has improved my hearing. Tomorrow I'll be going in as an outpatient to have a Cochlear implant reinstalled. I had it for about a year but had gotten an infection that couldn't be treated so Doc took it out to get rid of the infection. Then had to wait a year to be sure the infection was gone before trying again. I was supposed to have it reinstalled last year but my bike /car accident postponed the operation. While not really looking to go under the knife again I do know that I'll have improved hearing again so it'll be worth the aggravation during the healing process. Hopefully this will be the last time I'll need to do this. Larry

If they really wanted to sell them here in the US then it needs a better power plant. Limited range with an all electric motor just won't cut it here. It does look decent styling wise. Larry

As the guys have said only you can make that decision. As all of us get older our reaction times, strength and balance, etc. get slower to a point we may feel we're not safe anymore. I was going thru some of the same thoughts after my last accident. But my love of the open road kept me around. That and the fact that I'm on 3 wheels helped in that decision. Of course even being on 3 wheels is no guarantee you'll still be safe but I feel the odds are more in our favor then. Good luck on your decision no matter what you decide. Larry

My cost was $1910 + a $50 Freight charge. I picked the lift up at a local freight company (Conway) who did load it with a fork lift onto my trailer. Those services were included with the shipping fee. You can also have a home delivery too for I think an additional $40. Getting a lift off a truck will require a forklift though. I could of gotten a cheaper unit at about $1700 but felt this one was a better made unit. Haven't used it yet on any of the cages yet but see no reason it shouldn't preform as intended. Larry

Ya if I was only going to use the lift for the bike I probably would of just bought a trike lift with at least 1500# capacity and saved myself a few hundred bucks. But as I said in the previous post having this lift will serve double duty when needed. Gets old working on cars on the ground all the time. I really wish I had done this years ago. My garage is on the small side with a low ceiling but even at that I can raise the trike to about 3 ft from the ground. Larry

I was looking at lifts a couple months back. Not wanting a cheap HF lift I invested in a quality Mid-Rise car lift. I can now use it for both my trike and any of my cars or truck. Ya I had to spend considerably more money but I think in this case you get what you pay for. Quality trike lifts would of cost me almost as much as the Bend-Pak unit I purchased. Most trike lifts I checked on had ratings from 1200-1500 lb lift ratings. My trike weighs in about 1250 so we're looking at borderline capacity. A 6x12 with steel mesh ramp will haul both of your bike easily. You will have to stagger them for best fit. As far as that type of ramp I see very little wind resistance with it. After all its a mesh with plenty of holes for wind to go thru. Now if you had a solid ramp ya I'd agree with folks about wind resistance. Also you might want to check local trailer sale places. When I bought my last trailer they were much cheaper than Lowes were. Larry

Don't know the weight of my hydraulic bottle jack but that's what I will use if needed. Thankfully it hasn't been used yet. Having a trike I'm less concerned of the weight differences that a two wheeler would be concerned about. What about the cam style of lifts that you place under the axle, then drive either forward or backward causing the wheel to be raised off ground. If I recall I think they're either made of plastic or light weight aluminum. Larry
