The stator is only able to output a certain amount of watts. If the battery has died, it will absorb some of that wattage and if the difference is not enough it will be a declining power situation. In a car, there are an abundance of watts from the alternator and a dead battery will usually not draw it down far enough to deprive the ignition from functioning.

How can you do voltage tests without a good known source. Put a good battery out of something else in it, then redo your tests.

Not uncommon for the router to need rebooting. If that doesn't work, disable and enable the wireless device on the computer next.

Are the riding jeans made special?

I have found some of the switches have a similar switch that lights up when on. If you check you might find the same switch in the light up variety.

I had heard before that the water can plug the filter as it doesn't go through like gas. YMMV.

What kind of store did you find yours in?

The wife and I are looking for Leather Jackets with armor. We tried some on at a local Harley shop. Just trying to get reviews on who has what and what they like. We are looking at leather for durability and like the armor just in case. We want the most protection we can get in case of a fall. Thanks for your responses.

I picked up the Honda Moly 60 grease.

I had also pulled the clip and cleaned and lubed the pins. They were better than I expected. It appears as though someone had done the rear wheel service before. The bike has 32K on it. Also, is there a gasket between the pumpkin and middle drive? I think I have my terminology right. Thanks, Doug

276000 miles on my 5.4 and I change them all at once. Used the cheap ones and have changed them twice in 135000 miles. YMMV.

Nope, I'll be 53 next month and have the exact same problem. I keep blaming the body not the bike. I am doing the exercises I found from Iron Butt to try and get in better shape.

I started the process of changing the rear tire on my '87. I noticed before I pulled the wheel that there was a slight play in it. When I pulled it I found one bearing smooth and had lube. The other side not so much. The one in the picture has play and rumbles slightly when turned with my finger. The steel spacer is at the top of the picture. I guess a set of bearings are in my future. I got the Honda Moly grease the other day to grease the hub. Looked like someone might have done it years ago as it wasn't totally dry. Any thing else I need to know? BTW, I did the way were the bike kneels like a camel. It was a bit intimidating at first but wow is it easy and quick. Thanks, Doug

Hard to see, but if you take off the master cover and the rubber cover inside the cover, the hole is in the bottom of the master. It is so small, a single strand of copper wire is all that will fit through it.

"Also check that little pinhole bleed hole on the bottom of the reservoir, it may be plugged..." It's called a spooge hole. (For lack of a better term).

I notice it's always the 2nd Gens that put the big bright tail lights on. I guess the 1st Gens are fast enough not to get run over.

I-55 just south of I-80 is a parking lot for 10 miles. There is bridge construction across the I-55 Des Plaines River bridge. After the bridge it is wide open. Have a great trip.
