  1. Hi Mike, I received one of Steve's lightbars today. The intructions say to " find the 6 pin connector that connects the main harness to the rear fender harness." Is that under passenger seat or near the battery. the one near the battery is white while under the seat there are 2 black ones. I want to be sure before I go plugging in and blowing fuses. I did all my own mods so far but plumbing and electrical I'm not good at ! Any help would be appreciated ! tks Doyle
  2. I installed my baggersheild a few weeks back. Its great - the dual purpose works well and it offers better protection than the stock. I highly recommend it.
  3. Thanks for the advice and help guys. I used " advanced " formula crazy glue last night and some glue sticks to get some of the tabs back in place. I'm still missing 3 that are pretty much gone and have to be rebuilt completely. I rode today for 5 hours and it seems to be holding but I know it's only a temp fix. I like the JB weld stuff - that seems like an option. I was think about fibregalss to build up the tabs that are now gone. Will fibreglass adhere to the ABS fairing? I can't beleive it did that much damage with so little on the ends of the nuts. I am pissed for not reading the darn label - I did today - than I burned the tube and cursed it to hell lessen learned the hard way. I only bought it recently to use on the handlebar end weights and I thought - that worked well and put some on the fairing. I guess better I found the problem in the garage than 200km from home ! Anyhow the baggersheild is a great sheild - it is wider that stock and today at only +8 degrees celcius (icebergs are just off shore) I used the clear top part and it kept the wind off of us both nicely. I did try a quick run with just the bottom portion and I like that also - it should be nice when it warms up. Had 2 bugs splatter on the winsheild. Spring is here - it's pathetic
  4. I recently installed driving lamps and had the front fairing off - all looked fine. Today I was installing a baggersheild windsheild and had to loosen up the bolts holding the face of the fairing on. When I did I heard parts faling off the inside - turns out it was the plastic that holds the metal tabs that the screws go into. Only 2 are left in tack - the other are all cracked up and useless. I am trying to crazy glue them back so I can re-attach the fairing. Not sure what happened - looks like they just rotted - broken into peices. They weren't too tight - i used a bit of loctite but just a dab. If I cannot get it back on securely the fairing is useless and I canot ride. I took 2 days off work as it's the first warm temps we have had this spring. Can I buy a replacement front fairing from Yamaha? Anyone know where to get one? I can get it painted to match the bike.
  5. We have several odd ones here on the rock. Virgin Arm Dildo - this one has a statue of an old fishermen called ' Caption Dildo ' I, ll get a photo next time To Good Arm Just a few !!
  6. I just installed the OEM passing lamps also. It was not too bad but learned a few things the hard way - all is well and they work great. I wired mine to be on all the time. Where did you get the lighbar for the rear?
  7. Thanks for geting back so quickly - next time I'm out I'll ensure to twist the throtle a little more and not make it work so hard off the start !
  8. Hi folks, Its trying to be spring in Newfoundland but it's May and still only 3-4 degrees Celcius with more snow on Tuesday:( I installed a few new items this year - ISO grips, kept the original end weights on - ground the colars down and used locktite to hold them in - so far so good. I put a chroms rad cover on - celestial style - look good. Installed a set of passing lamps and just ordered a baggersheild windsheild - I like the idea of a low windsheild if and when it warms up. I have only been out a few times this year and have put 400km's on it. Not sure if just me but the bike seems to be noisier starting off in 1st gear when the rev's are low - almost a shaking, clunking sound just before it wants to stall. I normally rev it up more to start off but noticed it today in traffic starting. When i heard it I have been doing it over and over to try and pinpoint what it could be. It's a new oil change, rear spline was greased last year when I replaced the rear tire. Diff oil is good and clear - checked that today. Not sure - may it's just me. The bike has 26,800 km's - trouble free so far. It's a great - we love it
