lyleh Posted 3 hours ago #1 Posted 3 hours ago I have never liked the front brakes on my 2001 as they don’t grab as hard as i think they should or want and I have to squeeze hard to get them to really grab. A friend of mine says that may be cause the material the rotors are made of prevent rusting but also make them slippery. He thought there might be pads that do a better job of grabbing. Questions: 1. Do other riders notice this? 2. Are there better pads out there and if so where can I get them? Thanks
BlueSky Posted 28 minutes ago #2 Posted 28 minutes ago (edited) It's the way the RSVs are made. The front brake takes too much pressure and the rear brake takes too little. It's easy to lock up the rear brake and skid in a panic stop. I think the sintered metallic pads will grip the best but they also wear the rotors the most.
