sleepy2 Posted August 7 #1 Posted August 7 Tested across battery terminals today with battery at 12.85volt and engine reved, tester said 12.88volt. Riding around my volt gage was showing 12.3v. 11.9v with highbeam on. Acording to repair manual, symptoms say probably Voltage regulator. Anyway to test? Book says you have to try good one in place. Have spare battery incase right now!
Freebird Posted August 7 #2 Posted August 7 Here is a thread written by our dear old friend bongobob. Very good information. 1
RDawson Posted August 7 #3 Posted August 7 Phil make sure the battery is good and connections clean and tight. I had a low voltage symptom for several months 12.9-13v, battery and stator tested good so I replaced the regulator with no change. Replaced the battery due to age and it jumped to 14 volts.
