Pasta Burner Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 One of them will short to ground, the other would be hot.
gorski Posted May 6, 2022 Author Posted May 6, 2022 trying to avoid blowing a fuse anyone know for sure?
Freebird Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 Best to use a meter to check it but I'm 99% sure that the brown/yellow wire is hot. Should be able to look at the back of the current receptacle and determine.
gorski Posted May 6, 2022 Author Posted May 6, 2022 Thanks Freebird, yes it is the brown/yellow wire. Just probed it to be sure Thanks

Sorry I wasn’t meaning to just stick a jumper wire in and ground it if that’s what you thought. My intention was to use a meter and the wire that is “short to ground” or I guess better said common with ground is your negative. More than likely the black and green are not hot.
gorski Posted May 6, 2022 Author Posted May 6, 2022 Hey no problem, didn't think that at all, put a probe on it and found it, it's the brown/yellow wire that's hot Thanks for reaching out enjoy the weekend!
saddlebum Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 a test light or voltmeter with one lead connected to ground or the batterys neg post is the surest way.
gorski Posted May 7, 2022 Author Posted May 7, 2022 yep that's what I did, remembered I had a test light
