12v outlet on dash,hot wire?

Looking to splice into the 12v outlet in the dash in order to add another,   green/black-white off the outlet and brown-yellow/black to the wiring harness.  Picture is below..Can anyone tell wich is the hot wire????  Thanks

One of them will short to ground, the other would be hot.

trying to avoid blowing a fuse     anyone know for sure?

Best to use a meter to check it but I'm 99% sure that the brown/yellow wire is hot.  Should be able to look at the back of the current receptacle and determine.

Sorry I wasn’t meaning to just stick a jumper wire in and ground it if that’s what you thought.  My intention was to use a meter and the wire that is “short to ground” or I guess better said common with ground is your negative.  More than likely the black and green are not hot.

Hey no problem, didn't think that at all, put a probe on it and found it, it's the brown/yellow wire that's hot  Thanks for reaching out  enjoy the weekend!

a test light or voltmeter with one lead connected to ground or the batterys neg post is the surest way.

yep that's what I did, remembered I had a test light
