need engine guard

I am in need of a 2nd generation (1999 to 2008) engine guard for the right side that is NOT bent (like mine!) without having to pay the new price. Any one have one available? You can send me private email or post here. Thanks!

Is yours bent up that bad or is it just bent at the two mounting points?

I can bend it back (more) and line up the mounting holes (maybe) - BUT - there are 2 indents/buckles in the upper & lower tubes near the frame mounting tabs that are obvious to the keen eye - which is what I do not want on this bike. This part new is $200 (+/-) from either Bike Bandit or Cliff Rue and I would think that the Yamaha dealer would want even more! There are none on ebay today nor Pinwall Cycles. So I thought I would check with other riders here on the forum. As flimsy as this piece is, finding a used one that is not bent might not even be that possible unless I find a non-wrecked bike that is being parted out which again is rare.

I would offer you mine. It got bent in a slow speed drop but doesnt sound as bad as yours. I do have to wait a bit though...insurance is still trying to figure out if I have to give back the parts that were replaced.

Off an 06 TD. Hit a dog and it got barely bent back to touch the floorboard. has a small marr where it made contact. I don't think it even scratched through the chrome. It did of course bend the ears where it mounts to the frame but was pushed back where it belongs before it was dismounted. Don't see any stress cracks in the chrome there either. PM me with what you think is a reasonable price for it and we will work something out. MH
