BlueSky Posted June 11, 2015 Share #1 Posted June 11, 2015 (edited) If your Gen 1 has lost the rubber grommets that help hold the plastic side covers on, the OE grommets are available from Partzilla. My order just arrived. Edited June 11, 2015 by BlueSky
flyday58 Posted June 11, 2015 Share #2 Posted June 11, 2015 Mine from Partzilla were NOT OEM profile. When I told them they said that was what is available under that part number now. They work, but the pins have to be forced into the grommet.
BlueSky Posted June 11, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted June 11, 2015 (edited) I haven't put the panels back on yet so mine may be the same. They are Yamaha parts according to the packaging. PS I just put the side cover back on and it fit fine. It was a snug fit but I easily pushed the panel pins through the grommets. I'm very pleased! Max Posted June 11, 2015 Share #4 Posted June 11, 2015 They work, but the pins have to be forced into the grommet. Replaced mine this spring and found them a tight fit. Applied a light film of dielectric grease to new front grommet front and rear rubber frame mounted grommet. Made installation a lot easier. KIC Posted June 13, 2015 Share #5 Posted June 13, 2015 Do you have any part numbers, cost info, contact info on the company ? Sounds like a good thing to replace mine with.

Patmac6075 Posted June 17, 2015 Share #8 Posted June 17, 2015 Must be nice to have side covers with the pins (pokies) intact. Must be nice to have the side covers! I wish some one would make replacements! I know it would cost an arm and a leg to ship, but Milwaukee Cycle Salvage has at least 50 pair of Venture side covers in all sorts of colors....might be worth it just to give them a call...heck I'm always looking for a reason to dig around there...drop me a pm, let me know what you're looking for and I'll snap some pix for you.
