hose for steibel horn

I read the instructions for my steibel horn, it has a plastic L that pushes in from underneath and suggests some hose to a protected place.

My question is, without getting too personal, has anyone who mounted one of these run a hose and if so where is your "protected place" ??

My protected place is, I think , on one of the shelves in my storage room. Got the horn on both bikes and haven't even installed the plastic "L". So far in 3 years no problems.

They recommend running a hose to an area where it will not pull in dirt. I've seen some run up under the false tank cover (battery area) but if you don't have a maintenance free battery, you may pull in gasses from the battery. I would just run it anywhere up high and put a small filter on it. M2C

OOPS think I missed that when I put it on the Kawi as it was under the gas tank. On the RSV its (the horn) mounted in the left leg fairing. Hopefully not pulling to much crap. Guess I could run a hose up under the cover by the relays.
