Rgbrittian Posted June 16, 2012 Share #1 Posted June 16, 2012 I am trying to change the fuel filter on my 1988 Venture and I can't locate it. Does anyone know where it is located?
painterman67 Posted June 16, 2012 Share #2 Posted June 16, 2012 (edited) on my 91 its just in front of the rear tire behind the side panel on the left side of the bike as your setting on it. It would be just behind and a bit below your passengers left foot. Hope this helps and Ill go outside and take a pic and repost in a second. First pic shows the filter itself and second pic shows where its at. Jusat in behind the foot rest to the rear of the fuel pump. mm482 Posted June 16, 2012 Share #3 Posted June 16, 2012 Make sure you turn the fuel petcock off before you remove the filter. Ask me how I know that. LOL Earl:big-grin-emoticon:

mm482 Posted June 16, 2012 Share #6 Posted June 16, 2012 It WAS full, I say it WAS full. I had the new one in hand and was going to change them out quickly, but I was one hand short. Earl
Evan Posted June 17, 2012 Share #7 Posted June 17, 2012 I've been carrying a new gas filter with me for a couple years now, but haven't installed it yet cause I was told that access was a hassle as you have to remove much stiff. From Dave's helpful pictures, it looks like access only requires the removal of the side cover. Is that the case?
mbrood Posted June 17, 2012 Share #8 Posted June 17, 2012 It really helps to remove the two bolts holding the fuel pump (just in front of the filter) as this allows more access to the filter mount screw and also more freedom with the fuel lines.
