Terry Richardson Posted November 16, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 16, 2007 Hey guys, I just bought a 84 Venture, got her home, cleaned her up and serviced her, took her for a ride the next week and found a bad pick up coil. Any idea where I can find one? I have look all over the net and the dealer just laughs at me. Thanks for your help.

Condor Posted November 16, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 16, 2007 Yep, Ebay has them all the time. Just make sure the seller guarantees it not to be DOA. Cleanliness/condition also have a lot to do with the quality of the part. I see a lot of 'grunge' coils listed. I thought I might have an OEM, but just checked my 'stash' and couldn't locate it. cmiles3 Posted November 16, 2007 Share #4 Posted November 16, 2007 Are all the coils the same? I bought a set off ebay a while back for spares- I could send you one. PM me if you're interested.
Squeeze Posted November 16, 2007 Share #5 Posted November 16, 2007 Are all the coils the same? .... As long as the Coils are pre 1991, they should be the same.
PEIslander Posted November 16, 2007 Share #6 Posted November 16, 2007 Are these what your looking for? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1988-Yamaha-XVZ1300-Venture-Royale-Ignition-Coils_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35594QQihZ019QQitemZ290179995654
Terry Richardson Posted November 17, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted November 17, 2007 Thanks for the fast response guys. Yes PEIslander that looks like the one of the animals. I am not sure if the ignition coils are the culprit or the pick up coils. Need to try and find both. I have stong fire on one cylinder, weak in a second cylinder and none in the last two. Shes a sick little girl for sure. I appreciate the heads up on Ebay, I have been searching there but no luck so far.... looked a little late for that auction PEIslander. GeorgeS Posted November 17, 2007 Share #8 Posted November 17, 2007 P/N 26H-81670-10-00. I found them on line at a dealer, listed on IPC , price is $356.75 New. IF thats what you need. Go to almost any dealer web site, and pull up the IPC, look under your year and model, and then the " Generator Section" of the IPC. But you might find a set on E-Bay.
