The 'C' is a California model. Refers to the carb (smog) requirements. May be nothing more than the required decals. Either will work for you.
MiCarl Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 The C on the end is for California emissions. Same manual for both.
titansedriver Posted May 26, 2010 Author Posted May 26, 2010 site says it cant indentify Vin#--that sux!---typed in JVA1NLEOXKAO28509 and JYA1NLEOXKAO28509 thinking the V might be a Y and got the same results---"can't identify"
Freebird Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 The 0's are numeral 0's, not letter 0's. Here is how yours came up. 1989 YAMAHA XVZ13D VIN: JYA1NLE0XKA028509 World region: Asia Manufactured in: Japan Year: 1989 Make: Yamaha Model: XVZ13D Body style: Road / Street Drive type: RWD Cylinders: 4 Cylinders
MiCarl Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 It is a "Y" and your "O"s should be "0"s (zeroes). The correct VIN is JYA1NLE0XKA028509 Comes back as 1989 Yamaha XVZ13D (the D is Royale). The VIN decoder does not return the year letter (W on yours) or the California emissions designator ©. So the motorcycle in question is an XVZ13DW or XVZ13DWC.
