Shipper Posted April 12, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 12, 2010 If you wanted the wide white sidewalls, what tires would you get? I'm really liking this retro thingy look and sound-goes back to the fifties (yes, I was there).
Gary N. Posted April 12, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 12, 2010 I've been using the Dunlop 404 WWWs. Average about 12000 to 14000 miles per set. Avon offered them in the stock rear size and the 130 front but I don't know if they still do or not.

pegscraper Posted April 13, 2010 Share #9 Posted April 13, 2010 I've had good results and gotten good mileage out of both Dunlop D404 and Avon Venom.
Pegasus1300 Posted April 13, 2010 Share #10 Posted April 13, 2010 I used the Metzler 880 in 130x16 on the front but they did not have a 150X15 in www. I now have the Dunlop 404 on a 2008 RSTD. I had good success with both brands
bobbyduck Posted April 16, 2010 Share #11 Posted April 16, 2010 I have run two sets of the Avon Venoms now, using the 130 sized front. They wear well and handle even better. I understand that they are now out of production; however, they are on shelves still. I just got a new rear one last week in Alberta. Good Luck! Sylvester Posted April 16, 2010 Share #12 Posted April 16, 2010 I have run the D 404 for the last five sets with the wide whitewalls. There life span is not with the Metzlers or Avons but the price is good and the performance is great. Metzlers I will never own again due to belt breakdown. I have never tried the Avons but many of my friends run them. I have nearly 120,000 miles on my 02 and for what I do and love the Dunlop fits the bill. Bobbyduck can I ask where you got your avon and the price? I'm going to need a new avon this summer for the rear. Just wondering if there's a good retailer in Alberta or if you got it out province.
