Red Rider Posted February 25, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 25, 2010 I've got a Garmin nuvi 255w gps. I have the ball mount for use in the car. What I need is a handle bar mount for my RSV. Can't find any thing at garmin.com. Where should I be looking for a mount? I did stick it to the windshield with the suction cup, but it fell off at hwy speeds and scared the s--t out of me. I grabed it before it fell off the tank and gave it to the wife..

RR Look here too: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=35927 I kind of prefer the "Heads Up" Position on the Handle Bar too. Monty Posted February 25, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 25, 2010 I just got mine in today. I have a Garmin Nuvi 205W.(I know, I'm cheap). It cost less than $10, and I ordered it from Amazon.com. The company is www.chargercity.com. Part # is 16765819973122. It also fits the 255w. Here it is. http://www.chargercity.com/GPS-Accessory/Garmin-GPS-Accessories/Garmin-Nuvi-Series/Garmin-Nuvi-200W-205W-250W-255W-255WT-(4.3-GPS)/MNT-Motorcycle-bike-Mount-by-CCity-for-Garmin-Nuvi-Streetpliot-GPS-c-201-p-317.html http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/2003%20Venture/IMG_3814.jpg My impression: It fits right on my GPS, but it feels a little loose. I don't think it'll come off, but it may move around quite a bit. I am going to build up the ball with some tape to tighten it up. If that doesn't work, I may get a special made one from Skydoc. Monty Posted February 25, 2010 Share #6 Posted February 25, 2010 Also, I have the Ram mount with the bigger size ball if anyone needs one. I don't know which GPS Buddy had, but the ball is way too big for my 205W. If anyone wants it, let me know.

dynodon Posted February 26, 2010 Share #8 Posted February 26, 2010 I bought mine here: http://www.mountguys.com/category_s/2146.htm Third one down on the left. Mounts on the bar, lots of options, your 255 will clip right in. Hard wire the power and you are set to go. I built a sun shade from cardboard and double stick taped it on and painted it black. When that goes, I might buy one that is real, but for not, it works.
