Choke cable Install

My choke cable broke or came loose at the handlebar. I got another cable and I'm about to dive in. Does anyone have any hints that the manual won't tell me? I also noticed a small coolant leak from somewhere near the top of the engine when it is parked. At least now it is warm enough to get in the shop and do it!

The way I do it is to duct tape the new one to the old one and pull it through. In this way you have the cable in the same place as the original. It is not a hard fix, I attach the top end first. .

About your antifreeze leak

I have that too on my 85, nothing to be alarmed with, its probably just a loose hose clamp

my bike started leaking when it got below 50 too so i don't think its too big of a deal!

Ops forgot about that, it's a common problem and I find that if clean or replace the O-ring on the Thermostat bypass it goes away.

So I should tighten my clamps and replace the Bypass o-ring. Gotcha. I had a leak from the carb when parked but seafoam seemed to help that...THANKS FOR THE CARB THREAD....I dreaded taking those off.

I tried this like you suggested and had it done in 15 min. It would have been quicker but I did not pay close attention when I took the switch apart that the choke lever mounted to. Thanks Man, I would have done it the hard way without your wisdom!
