Highway pegs

Recommended Posts

I decided to mount highway pegs on my floor boards in stead of the crash bars. This is what I ended up with. They are made for a Road Star. They are drill to mount. I love them. They get my feet away from the motor heat during the hot summer months. :happy34:

I had those on my V-Star, mounted on chromed floor boards and they are quick and easy to install, requires you to drill holes in your floorboards in order to bolt these to the boards.

Since I'm modding my V-Star with forward controls, I was going to put the chromed floorboards and these pegs on my Venture but the pegs are a little too forward to pass the engine guard, I would have to re-drill the mounting holes and set it correctly.. but someone got me a set of pegs that mounted directly to the highway bars.. Hmm might look into revamping those this winter.. Hmmm

These pegs are highly adjustable and functional.. Good job Owen, good clear photos..

You can get these at http://www.kuryakyn.com/index.cfm/go/Home.ProductDetail/IMID/929

or perhaps less expensive elsewhere, Cruiser Customizing for example..

Looks good! What type of bracket did you use to mount them? Did you fabricate it yourself or buy it somewhere?

They came as a complete set up. I didn't have to add any parts. I did use stainless steel hardware. I already had the lower vents so I was able to position the pegs for clearance.

Do you feel the bolt heads under the rubber floorboard mats? The side view photo makes it look like they raised the rubber?

If you lift your rubber pads, you'll see there is gap there and the bolt heads are purposely short, almost half size of a regular bolt head.. (as they are on my VStar)..

You won't feel them under your boot as most of the weight on your foot is in the heel anyway..

I have since trimmed the under side of the rubber mat. Just a couple 'rubber nipples' that were in the way. I don't notice them at all.

They come as a complete set? Where did you order them from? Do you still have enough room to get under the shifter (yes I know thats what your heel is for but I am slow to change)

They stick out of way enough to get your toe under the shifter (I don't use heel section) and look up in the message, some idiot already posted a couple of links as to where to find these items from..

Cheers
