I'd hate to start another oil thread, but I'm sold on synth and like the AMSOIL but may try the Mobil 1 MXT4 next time because it is probably easier to get (and maybe even cheaper). N3FOL Posted August 14, 2009 Share #9 Posted August 14, 2009 My RSV has always been on 10W40 Valvoline Moto oil aside from what was inside the engine from the time I bought my bike. After reading several threads on what type and weight to use on the 2nd Gen RSVs, I am seriously thinking about Rotella 20W40 or 20W50 dino oil the next time...so far I am not sold yet on the Rotella.
