WIKD Posted September 9, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 9, 2007 I was wondering if anyone knew what the chrome strips on the upper fairing were designed to do. Is it just looks? The only thing I could contribute them to would be airflow or rain but as small as they are I wouldn't think they do anything but looks. Also are they just put on with double sided tape? I have an aversion to chrome so unless theres a reason for them or they bolt on they are going to go. Thanks for any help.
flb_78 Posted September 9, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 9, 2007 the one under the windshield or the 2 "whiskers"? I think the whiskers are just stuck on. The one under the shield is needed.
Starrider04 Posted September 9, 2007 Share #3 Posted September 9, 2007 They are just stuck on you can remove them with a hair dryer.
V7Goose Posted September 9, 2007 Share #4 Posted September 9, 2007 Yup, just stuck on with no purpose. Easy to take them off with fishing line, heat gun, or Goof Off. I need new ones to fix my bike, so if you take them off, I'd like to have them if you want to get rid of 'em. Goose
nkbjones Posted September 9, 2007 Share #5 Posted September 9, 2007 I just took mine off, they serve no purpose. They come off in about 5 seconds with fishing line, but be prepared to spend 45 minutes getting the adhesive off with wd-40. The bikes looks better now that they are off. sarges46 Posted September 9, 2007 Share #8 Posted September 9, 2007 I might Monsta. I am still trying to decide that, my bike needs a paint touch up cause of my small dump in July. I was thinking of taking em off and getting some air brushing done in that area.
