bikerjohn Posted March 17, 2012 Share #1 Posted March 17, 2012 (edited) I bought a Steel Cargo Carrier from nothern tool part Number 148835 Modified it by cutting 6 inches from each end. also got a 11/4 receiver hitch extender and had the end cut off and the tube on the carrier shortend. Me and the wife are going cross country and i didn't want to tow my open trailer all the to hoover dam and back. pictures with gear already loaded. Can you tell much of a difference in balance while riding? We usually just carry the little tent and a couple sleeping bags in the box. djh3 Posted March 17, 2012 Share #7 Posted March 17, 2012 I dunno, to me it sure looks like alot hanging off past the axle. I know stacking up on the trunk is'nt real desirable either. I have been trying to search for some top rails for saddle bags. If I could mount them, that would give me somewhere to store the rain gear while traveling and would free up one whole side for clothes.
