sadicarnot Posted February 21, 2011 Share #1 Posted February 21, 2011 I have a Pitbull Lift and the Carbon One Lift Adapter with the legs option. The fixed wheels on the Pitbull Lift are in the way of where the feet on the legs need to go. I was wondering if anyone has this combination. The Pitbull is considered to be very stable and this is achieved by being very wide. This added width causes the lift to interfere with the legs. Anyway not the end of the world, but a little disappointing as I think it would be easier to change the oil if the bike is on the legs and the lift is moved out of the way. Thanks. Carbon_One Posted February 21, 2011 Share #2 Posted February 21, 2011 How much wider would the adapter have to be to center the jack under the bike? Larry
sadicarnot Posted February 21, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted February 21, 2011 I'll take some pictures so you can see better.
sadicarnot Posted February 21, 2011 Author Share #4 Posted February 21, 2011 Larry; I have your e-mail so I will send the photos to that. I took several...I should have put a ruler in the frame. Let me know if you need more.
sadicarnot Posted February 21, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted February 21, 2011 Here are some photos, I guess they are easy enough to pose. Before I took the wheels off the bike I moved the lift around quite a bit, and was unable to find a good happy medium of stability, leg clearance, kickstand clearance. Carbon_One Posted February 21, 2011 Share #6 Posted February 21, 2011 Reply sent vie e-mail. Larry PS: was the bike balanced in that position?
sadicarnot Posted February 21, 2011 Author Share #7 Posted February 21, 2011 It was balanced pretty good. I lifted it and repositioned the the jack a couple of times and this position seemed pretty good. When I get the wheels back on I could move the jack towards the rear and try it there. It will have to be tuesday or wednesday because the stealer is closed monday.
M61A1MECH Posted February 21, 2011 Share #8 Posted February 21, 2011 Any possibility that you can move the wheels to the inside of the jack? Will not help the stability of the jack but looks like it would allow the adapter legs to be used. Just a thought.
sadicarnot Posted February 21, 2011 Author Share #9 Posted February 21, 2011 The wheels that are on it only fit that way. I would have to get smaller wheels for that to work.
ironhead782 Posted August 9, 2012 Share #10 Posted August 9, 2012 I wish I had seen this post before I built my adapter. I guess I will have to make another and make it longer. Let me know what you come up with to solve the problem. Damon

Carbon_One Posted August 10, 2012 Share #12 Posted August 10, 2012 The fix was Carbon One modified it for me. Made it about 2 inches longer on each end. I'd completely forgotten about building you a special adapter for the Pit Bull jack. I didn't record the changes I made for you so would you mind answering my pm to you so that any future customers with a Pit Bull jack can get the proper size adapter from me?
