My mother recently gave my daughter about 10 goldfish from her pond. I have a decent sized (Approximately 20 gallons) hexagon acrylic aquariumsitting in the attic that My mom had given me years ago, but never used. All of the equipment is pretty old, so I am researching a new filter system for the aquarium. My mother had used an Undergravel filter (UGF), but I have encountered several sites on the net that do not use UGF's and provide reasonable reasons for doing so. So, I got this aquarium that I would like to use for basic, low maintenance fresh water fish. I have some gravel and some old ornaments. I just need the cleaning "system" to get this thing going. The ten fish are currently sitting in my garage in a 2 gallon bucket. My mother assures me they will be fine for a week or so, but i'd rather not have my 6 and 4 yr old find their "pets" floating on the wrong side of the water. I may buy a 10 gallon starter aquarium from the box store for now, but I would like to use the big hex aquarium eventually. Any hobbist out there that can provide some info?

I know this isn't bike related but maybe someone can help me. A few weeks ago my mother passed away and my brother and I are starting to clear up the estate. My mother collected Fostoria and various other crystal and cut glass pieces. My brother and I know nothing about this stuff or how to value it. We spent today photographing each piece and I have uploaded those photos to my web site. They can be seen at: www.traynorphoto.com/momscrystal We know there are some valuable pieces and some that are not. However, we don't know which is which. We are reluctant to send the items to an auction house because we would hate to see a $600 pitcher go for $6. Does anyone have any idea how to find the true value on these items or how best to sell them? Our intent with the photos was to just email dealers and offer the pieces up for sale and ask for offers. We're just sort of overwhelmed by the number of pieces mom had. Thanks, Dennis

How many of you motorcycle riding love birds have plans for Valentine's Day? I so wanted to go for a country ride. Mother nature has other plans, supposed to get thunder storms Saturday and Sunday. Maybe he will take me to the movies.

My Mother who is 80 y/o passed away about 10:40 PM last night, after a long bout with pancreatic cancer. Even though she is gone and in peace now I feel that she won the battle as she went on her own terms with little pain and can now be with her Savior and her family that went before her. Please say a little prayer for Leatrice Johnson when you say yours today. Thanks Lyle

Let me try this again......... I haven't been on in a while. my wife is in Minesota with her mother who has had a recent surgery. She will be home in august. Jake has moved to Camp Pendleton (Oceanside Ca.) With the Marines. He and His wife are Back together (long story) and she has moved out there with him. I have been assisting our Youth leader at church with some things they are doing and i have recently surrendered to the ministry Myself. now i am taking some distance learning toward an associated degree in theology. (slidell baptist theological seminary) I have two young boys at home with me while their mother is away. and i am still working. there just hasent been much time for me to hang out here. Now, We are leaving tuesday evening or wednesday morning with a 26' U-Haul truck and a trailer. We will drive straight through to Oceanside Ca. Spend a day there probably, unload the bikes and two of us will be riding back this way some time between thursday or friday. Anyone along the route that might be able to assist if we have trouble? that would be great. We wouldnt mind shaking a hand or two along the way if anyone wants to. I'll probably be taking the laptop with us so i'll be checking in. Our plan is to get home in three days (600 mi. a day) and be back to work Monday. The other rider is a neighbor who is going to help us with the driving and he wants to do the ride back since he has never been out that way. neither have i by the way. I not sure but i think our route will take us along I-10 and I-20 most of the way. Now if i can just find time to check a few things out on the bike and mount a new tire tomorrow.......................

He sure did do'd it. Was laying down for my after lunch snoozer when there's a knock on the door and I think it must be a boozer, but in reality there stood Mother!!!!!out in the cold so I let him in,,,,, least thing one could do for somebody's Mother. Actually I think he wanted to see how Scamper and Blondie were making out with Little Tike but then when we got to where the action was, we forgot all about Little Tike and talked only of the heart and legs of Scamper and how to get Blondie to communicate better. He also brought some surgical tools with him and said that it would work better and easier than a large screwdriver and sledgehammer so I graciously accepted the donation for the operation of the respiratory apparatus. After that, he threatened to clean out my shop with all the meat he bought, but I suppose he was just thinking that the weather may be getting worse and he may need some more weight for traction. I thought to slow him down a bit on his purchases, but then thought of how much Ohhhhh Sherry would appreciate the gifts of love and so decline to voice my concern. Sure is nice to have such folks doing things for each other, Thanks Mother. Carl
