Just an FYI: I noticed today that JC Whitney now sells Avon Venom tires. They are not in the catalog, but you can find them on-line. The good news is they are shipped directly from the manufacturer, so you will never get an old tire (probably really a wholesaler, but just as good). The bad news is their prices are higher than Southwest Moto Tire. JC Whitney does match prices, but I would still suggest you buy from SWMT first because they have been such a great supplier for us. But JCW might be a good backup if SWMT is out of stock. And if you are buying just one tire where you have to pay shipping from SWMT, you might even save the $14 with a price match through JCW. On a related note, if you have been considering buying auxiliary switches for your bike, you may be out of luck. JCW used to sell both a handlebar mount 2-switch unit and a brake cylinder mount 3-switch unit, but they have both been discontinued (tried to buy them yesterday). So if you see one somewhere else and have been considering it, better get it while you can. Goose

I was reading one of the other threads that brought up a question... Has anyone ever tried to get a color match at an automotive parts store or other vendor to match the Venture, and did the color match up well? I've got a white trailer and just can't justify spending $500 on a paint job. Has anyone painted their trailer to match their bike and have any pointers for doing so?

Has anybody out there ever needed to paint match there first gen? Do to my stupidity I will need to repaint my saddle bag(s) and I would like it to match the original sparkle crimson black on my 83. Any thoughts?

I had a good idea and showed it to 86er when he was in Arkansas. I ordered a trunk back rest to match the one on my 86 VR off ebay. I cut a square piece of sheet metal and attached it to the Yamaha driver back rest on my bike now both match and it is alot more comfortable. Had to grind the rivets out of the bracket of the small back rest to bolt on the larger rest. Just an idea....
