  1. I rode a 2001 RSV for 17 years and 72,000 miles. Had to take a break to recover from shoulder problems. THis past March, I set out to find a new bike. Isat on them all. I was leaning towars the Triumph Rocket III, tride the Goldwing, a few Harleys, a Boulevard, Stratoliner, etc. When I got back on a Venture, I felt like I was "home". The Goldwing has a closer seat, although you can buy a seat that gives you an inch or two. The rider area felt claustrophobic. The little foot pegs weren't ans comfortable as the RSV floor boards. Plus if you want to use the highway pegs, with the GW motor, you have to be able to do the splits. The GW looks OK, but when I put all the likes against the dislikes, I ended up with another Venture. forbey
  2. Hers is a 2004 Honda VTX Retro, 1300 V-Twin, color Magenta (unless you are a guy ... then it is dark pink) Mine is a 2011 Yamaha Royal Star Venture, 1300 V-four, two tone blue http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i143/forbey/hersmine.jpg It is my second RSV. It feels so good to be back in the wind again! Jay
  3. I just bought my RSV. It ran fine for a couple of weeks, then the battery went dead. I charged it up, it started fine, the next morning the battery was dead again. The only thing I can think of that changed was the activation and connection of the IPOD that cam with the bike. I was told it shuts down after the bike is turned off, but since removing it from the connector, the battery hasn't died again. I'm thinking that something in the IPOD stays live, even when the timeout kicks in. Any additional experiences with this? Thanks, forbey PS: how do I attach the state map to my signature?
