    Dead Relay

A few years back, when I had my Wing, I was hooking up some aux lighting and needed a relay so I bought two... guess what? They were both duds. Never again will I buy cheap ones LOL

    Dead Relay

Thanks for mentioning ... I did that but since the relay was "upside down" I suspect some moisture weeped inside somehow. While the terminals showed corrosion, there was still power across one terminal, just not the second one where it should have been.
  5. Not long after I got my XCT, I installed a switched power block inside the fairing to run power to things like my GPS, Sirius XM, Aux running lights, and so on. I used a good quality relay for the project. A couple weeks ago I fired up the bike for the first time since last fall only to discover that none of these items worked any more. I dug into it this past weekend to discover that the relay was corroded and had failed. No worries, I just put a new one in. So why did it get corroded I asked myself? I had mounted it inside the fairing up against the metal fairing bracket with the wiring tabs facing UP! Of course ... any water that got inside there settled on it and slowly caused the connections to corrode and probably short out. Solution.... mount it with the connections facing DOWN. Possibly just a little "TIP" for others. 2013 RED XCT Live to Love - Love to Ride Life's a Venture on my Victory Driving a car is like watching a movie, riding a motorcycle is like starring in one! ---------------------------- Lloydz Air Filter Lloydz Timing Wheel Power Commander V Autotune CATs removed Stage 1 flash HD Trunk Rack FIAAM Air Horn PIAA 1100x Lamps D&D Performance Mufflers HID High & Low Victory Mini-Apes Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 ZP 195/55-16 102HP, 107Tq
  6. I tried that many years ago. Dr put some kind of pin in my ear... told me to press it whenever I got the urge for a smoke... I pressed it so many times I got an infection. LOL Wife did laser therapy twice. She's been smoke free for 5 years now. That said, she still had to mentally prevent herself from lighting up for a while.
  7. Great ... now everyone knows....
  8. Tried that ... didn't work, made me sick. The way to quit (I believe) is simply a mind over matter thing. The difficulty is keeping one's mind in the right place.
  9. One thing I like about GoDaddy is you can call their support and talk to someone without much waiting. They've always been extremely helpful. And you don't get someone in Pakistan that you can't understand.
  10. GoDaddy is a great hosting co. Been using them for several years to host various websites, email, etc for my work. At work I've had experience with several hosting companies and have moved from one to another multiple times. GoDaddy has been the best so far. https://www.godaddy.com/ That really sux that they did that. They said they notified you? ... For such a drastic action, you should have received several notifications!
  11. Unfortunately I'm back on the smokes... again! Just before xMas I was at work and my e-cig battery died first thing after I got there. I made it to about 3:30PM and just had to have something so I went and bought a cigarello (mini cigar) and smoked it. hmmmmm that was good. Next day I bought a pack ... stayed on those over the holidays and then started buying these "thin" cigs ... been smoking them since. 20 to a pak ... lasts me 2 days. I'll probably dump them eventually in favour of the e-cig ... just not decided at this time.
  12. Youse guyz crack me up .... Dontcha know ... Life's a Venture on a Victory ....
  13. The best way to end a disagreement is to agree to disagree .... so in that light, I agree with everything anyone disagrees with.... uhhhhhhh.... I'm not sure what I really said there....
  14. An oldie but still funny. Version I knew was racial ... this one's better.
  15. Nobody bashes Victory ... I'm feeling left out!!
  16. the word "HOARDER" comes to mind. Seriously??? I hope it's just a prop ...
  17. Certain "hobbies" we even have to give up ... well, maybe hobby isn't the correct word (if yanno whut I mean...)
  18. My Aunt (RIP) had the same thing but only her pinky was affected. She was like that for as long as I can remember. Hoping it all goes well for you with a speedy recovery!
  19. I refer you back to my post #6 which is where this part of the convo began.
  20. I once received a cheque for $100 made out to me, delivered to my address, from someone I didn't know. I contacted the person and asked what it was for. Apparently I had provided roadside assistance to them somewhere near Seattle when their vehicle was broken down. OK I said .... meanwhile, I'd never been near Seattle at that time. Guess it was meant for someone else with my name. They did say that they looked up my address coz I never gave it to them at the time. I said thanks and cashed the cheque LOL
  21. How 'bout video? ...
  22. In the case of a big rig, the exhaust is pushed up and over the trailer sufficiently. If a single trailer behind a pickup, the exhaust is low and passes under. In the case of a dog in an open cage which is directly behind the exhaust of the bike, I find it hard to believe the dog wouldn't be breathing some of the fumes. JMO here though and I would not want to subject my dog to the exhaust of the bike regardless of how much or little it may be.
  23. No one will fault you for that. I saw a guy once on a Wing pulling a small flatbed trailer behind. Strapped onto it was a large dog cage/carrier and in it was his dog. So I thought ... "seems to me a bad idea coz the dog would be breathing all the exhaust fumes ..." THAT I would not do!
  24. I'm looking for some sort of dog carrier that fits on top of the gas tank that my dog can ride in safely and securely. I know these products are available, just don't know where. Any ideas, links much appreciated. Our dog will max at around 10 Lbs.
