  1. Thanks. That sounds suspect if it really is as you describe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yes but it's in the little basket in the front of the trunk with the owners manual between it and the trunk itself.
  3. Have looked all over the trunk and to no avail. No the floor is not cracked, radio component is solid, does not have the floor support mod, all trunk bolts and hand rail bolts are tight, antenna also. Have not checked the trunk support bracket for broken welds but will. As for the rear wheel, just had it off for bearings and tire replacement, greased axle, and splines, didn't know any better on the hub? It really sounds to be up high. We always want to blame the trunk lid when we hear it, but we make sure to shut it tight. This wasn't always the case when we got the bike because one latch doesn't always catch and we have had to stop and reshut the trunk......so now we are in the habit of making sure it's completely closed when were in there. Good stuff folks and thanks, I'll keep looking! May just be the nature of the beast. If I can keep the Moderator on the back it won't bother me as much! LOL
  4. Yes we do carry some things. We emptied the trunk because it seems to come from up higher than the side bags but I suppose those and the side stand are worth a look. Thanks for the ideas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. No.....Not me....the bike . When the Moderator is on Duty, She hears something Rattle like something's loose in the trunk. When Riding solo I can hear it. It only seems to be on the sharper bumps where you get a "pot hole" type bump but not nearly hard enough to bottom out or hit pipes or anything like that. It's subtle enough that I can't hear it most times when she's on back but can when riding alone. We've looked for every loose hinge, latch, bracket, pushed, pulled, whacked, thumped everything we can without damaging stuff and all the "test rides" eventually prove it's still there. Not a big deal as long as it's this hard to find I'm confident nothing's going to fall off and cause us (or followers) to crash, but just wondering if anyone else has some experience with this same symptom on their RSV? The only thing I haven't taken apart are the rear speakers. I suppose it could be a loose speaker or something like that and I do have one that rattles a bit at high volumes and or with more bass but it's not enough to really bother me.......but maybe it could be the culprit......hadn't really put those two things together till just now..... 6. check the cruise cable adjustment at the carburator linkage on the left hand side under the back of the tank (around where the choke knob is if i remember right). Had the same issue with mine. Was one of the first things the book said to check and was the last one I actually looked at, but was the problem. My bike had the exact same symptoms you've described. I didn't think that could be it because the throttle seemed ok, but there are two cables, one for throttle and one for cruise. My cruise cable was all sloppy out of adjustment and it couldn't hold anything. Bet that's your problem too. Good luck! Creole
  7. Yes all in all it was a great day. Used to do it quite often growing up. I love horses too and wish I could justify having some of my own.
  8. ............on a horse...............rounding up cattle..............in the cedar tree thickets and canyons........ Was a Great day helping friends, but ..........not near as comfy as the Iron horse in my stable! Been about 5 years since I've even been on a horse, and not since Teen years rounding up cattle with one.......gonna be sore in the morning! Fun Times anyway! Creole
  9. Well, looks like we're not going to make this one. Maybe next time. Everybody have a great time and ride safely!
  10. Anybody just use vacuum Gage's?
  11. I was actually thinking of putting it just below the push to talk button so it might be easier access than either dangling or down under the seat.
  12. LOL I even tried logging in and couldn't find it....but at last before I left work it let me do it. Maybe not enough coffee this morning?
  13. Please if someone would.......The previous Owner removed the rear intercom cord holder under the passenger seat and tucked the cord under it. We use this when we ride, and the cord just dangles. I have one now to put back on (thanks to EUSA1 ). I've looked at where I think it should go but was wondering where it was originally from the factory. If anyone has a picture of this placement they would be willing to share I'd like to see it. Many Thanks! Terry
  14. I Dunno.....I messed with it this morning and I can't find a "blue balloon" anywhere either...
  15. I don't think anything's really temperature sensitive, although I have found moisture between the pump and actuator (located in the lower right & Left covers respectively) in the vacuum hose. My bike's a 99 and the cruise didn't work when I bought it. Did quite a bit of investigation to find it was just an adjustment issue. I was surprised how much water was in that particular vacuum line and don't know if it would actually condense in there by itself or what but if it does then it could freeze at those temps. Creole
  16. I blew up your photo and inverted the colors ..... what I see seems to fall inline with the 11.1 thinking of the others......idunno
  17. In what manner? I'm in the process of doing that now. Built my own adapter to use a set of smart phone headsets with boom mic and integrate an Iphone so we can have more than txt conversations with the kids while we are traveling. I have done the mock up on the iphone integration and it worked sitting in the garage. Have made one trip with the headset around town and worked very well with the exception of needing a better windsock, but have yet to put it all together on the road. Trying to build one for a friends HD before I go any further on my set......HD sound system is not as user friendly as our Yamaha. Creole
  18. a bit confused.... the Cb aux in port is a female right,? And the aux out port on both the radar detector and xm radio is also a female port? So you need two male terminated 3.5 mm patch cords and one splitter to connect everything. And mixing signals wont be a problem, as they will both be heard with the louder one being overlaid on the softer signal. If ive got the connections mixed please explain. Radio shack should have everything.
  19. I've never bled the systems on a MC and don't know what the tool is that you all are talking about. When I do our vehicles though, I use a plastic bottle with a rubber tube connected to the bleed port. I put enough brake fluid in the bottom of the bottle to cover the end of the rubber tube. Open the bleed valve then begin pumping the brakes. As fluid is pushed out, the bottle fills and this liquid over the hose in the bottle prevents it from sucking air. Keep an eye on the reservoir and keep topping it off so it doesn't run dry. I was planning on using this method with the MC when I got around to changing the fluid. Is there some reason this type of setup won't work? It's cheap and easy. Creole
  20. Put the bike back together last night and it wasn't bad at all, except for that pesky u-joint. Took several stabs but finally got it right. Thanks to Hart for the great deal on the shock and I was pleasantly surprised that the local Kawasaki (don't have Yamaha here) only charged $43.00 to mount / balance (I brought a new tire with me) and install the rear wheel bearings that I ordered. Up next a new Tulsa windshield and fuel sender, and a couple of other minor things and maybe spring will be ready with some nice riding weather!
  21. Yep. We could get a license at 14 for anything that was 125 cc or less then at 16 with a regular driving licensecould drive any motorcycle without any tests or endorsements. I grew up on a dirt bike so never took the mc test then years later when the state decided to put endorcement's on licenses they just asked if I had a motorcycle at renewal time. Had the endorcement ever since. Never have taken the mc test, might not pass either......
  22. If you have two ... pm me also for details also please. Thanks
  23. Sorry see the $4.95 and part numbers now... By the way.... Why do you take them off?
