  1. Hi all, I have a 99 Royal with the speedo on the tank, and have some what looks like water spots on the inside of the lens(condensation?). I took off the crome trim and removed the speedo but best I can tell the trim on speedo itself is crimp sealed, anyone had the same problem/fix, not a big deal but in certain sunlight it puts shadows on speedo face and is annoying, Mike.
  2. Steve thanks for the info, i also had seen those and thought about doing just what you are talking about but i think i would have to change my exhaust to a 4 into 2 as the 4x4 wont work with those exhaust/bag brackets. I have some nice hard bags i plan on installing and want to get a hitch on it to double as bag supports, i think the Hitch Doc with the wide/heavy fender supports is my best bet. I also saw an older post of yours over on delphi about your wiring harness, if i get this going i may be interested in one those. Getting any ride time in down there in Fla.? This Ky. wheather is too crazy, warm one day cold the next, but i sqeeze some 2 wheelin' in every chance i can! Mike
  3. Thanks Larry, your hitch is the one I want, my bike just doesn't have the long fender rails and exhaust-bag supports. I want to buy these- http://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-YAMAHA-XVZ1300CT-XVZ1300-ROYAL-STAR-TOUR-DLX-REAR-FENDER-STRUTS-RAILS-/251123237816?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a781c83b8&vxp=mtr#ht_9967wt_4506 and use your hitch. I guess my main question is, will these work on my bike and are they ok to use alone with the hitch as I won't have the exhaust and bag supports, my concern is does the exhaust supports add structural stability to keep the fender rails rigid and not flex from side to side. I believe I read somewhere that they would fit any Royal Star and they look like they would be strong enough by themselves, i was just wanting some expert advice from some of you guys before I went that direction, i've found a Hitch Doc for my bike but it's a verticle receiver and i would rather have a horizontal type. Does anyone know if this will work? Thanks again, Michael.
  4. I have a '99 Royal Star 4 into 4 exhaust, I have found a hitch but as another option was wondering if I could get a hitch and 2 fender rails from a Venture or RSTD and use those. Are the rails strong enough to use alone without the exhaust support brackets and will the mounting holes on the fender be the same (9 1/4 in.)? This site is a wealth of info, thanks Michael.

  6. Found seafoam at my local Menards home improvement store(Owensboro,Ky.) for 6.49 regular price(Wal-Mart is 9.99). I think it's 46.99 a gallon, that place sells about anything.

  8. I put a set of these( http://www.plasmaled.com/motorcycle_LED_lights.html)in blue on my black '99 and it looks very good. I bought the basic kit and ordered 4 more of the 5 light pod. I put 1 of the 4 light pods on the bottom of each front turn signal bar so shines down the fork on to the side of front wheel and then a spot on the ground. I put 2 of the 5 light pods on inside of gas tank on both sides shining down on the heads, 2 of the 4 light pods on frame behind engine shining forward, the other 4 - 5 light pods on the fender behind bags each side and under trunk shining down on rear fender, i used some electrical sealer tape to mount mine but you could get some 3M double sided tape at Lowes or somewhere to do the same thing. You'll have to add some wire to lengthen them, i soldered and used heat shrink tubing and covered it all with wire loom to help protect it. I think counting lights and extra wire, ect, i have about 95 to 100 bucks in mine. There's a guy at a local resturaunt bike night that charges 300 to do about half of what i've done, my buddy about died when he saw mine, (his brother paid the 300), needless to say his Ultra is well lit now for about 75 dollars. These big v4 engines really light up well, more surface area of chrome. The best part is it lights up the ground around the bike, pretty much the whole lane of the road. Don't know about laws where you are, but no police in Ky. have bothered me for having blue on mine. There are some pics of mine in my profile, let me know if can be of any help, Mike.
