Intercom Problem
Prairiehammer replied to Donvito's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Adjust the "H-PH ATT" knob on the audio remote control box on the left handlebar AND the passenger remote control H-PH ATT knob. -
Tricky because it is a modified Frankenstein bike? I see a parallel vertical twin cylinder engine. I see AMC/Matchless G11/AJS front end and mufflers. I see turn signals; which would not be stock. I see a left foot shifter. I see a left side kick starter. I see a right side chain drive. And I see where you edited the sidecar. It is apparently European with the front fender registration number placard. I ask again...is this a PRODUCTION motorcycle?

The maker of the VentureMP3 for the Second Gens also makes a device that allows integration of any device that uses a 3.5 mm male jack connector as an audio output, into the stock First Gen audio system. He (Jesus Barrantes) offers a Bluetooth receiver that can be plugged into the device he makes. More information here: http://ventureaudiolink.wordpress.com/ I purchased one, but I have yet to install it. (My bike is currently disassembled.) He can be contacted via email: info@venturemp3.com BTW: If you go to Jesus' site linked above, he shows a photograph of the underside of the Venture audio unit. Note the nut, washer and rubber grommet in the photo; that is the rubber damped mounting point that holds the main amplifier. Your intermittent connection problem in your original post may also result if that depicted rubber dampened mount is loose or if the rubber is compressed or if the rubber or washer or nut is missing. http://ventureaudiolink.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/easyinstall2.jpg?w=645&h=613

Pull the control panel and closely examine each of the many pins and sockets in those blue connectors. Sometimes if the panel doesn't go on perfectly, one or more of the pins/sockets may be misaligned and when the panel is seated, the misaligned pin/socket will get pushed into its respective connector body. Instead of a good male/female connection, you end up with an "end to end" contact of the pin and socket.

Odd and ugly.

1939 Brough Superior Dream, a flat FOUR engine.
-
An unlikely model from this manufacturer. Looks mighty fine, though.

ABW (Australian Battle Wagon). Australian made, the bike features car carbie, Magna alternator, home-made engine. http://nationalmotorcyclemuseum.com.au/gallery/bikes/ABW_Battlewagon_2.htm

Is that a production motorcycle? Looks like a fairly modern Harley chassis, but the Earles forks and the water cooled V-twin engine?
-
Next up is this motorcycle with a rather strange front suspension.

That is a 1929 Douglas DT5 http://www.webbs.co.nz/node/120446

Yes, that was a Cleveland Tornado. Good show! As for your offering: the engine configuration looks very much like the engine made by Maybach for Mars. A special Mars racer?

A warmed heart trumps sub-zero temps everytime!!

Puc, just do a Google image search for "shadow box". Lot's of ideas and variations. Basically a shadow box is a wall hung display case with multiple cubbies. -
Not an Ace engine. Not a Henderson frame. Made in the USA in 1929.
-
Thanks for the video. It was fun. But, the bike I pictured is not a Henderson. Good try, though. At a glance, they appear the same.

Mike, I dug out the storage shed enough to get inside and I found the stock black extension. I was incorrect, though, when this morning I said that the stock black extension and the aftermarket VentureLine chromed extension have the same projection; the stock extension extends the fender 2½ inches whereas, the VentureLine chromed extension extends 5 inches below the rear part of the fender.

This is gorgeous! What is it?

At the time of the attempted sale on eBay, four years ago, there was a minor stink going around about it's authenticity. Some noted that the factory GP racer would have an alloy tank whereas this specimen had a fiberglass tank. The front brakes, while duly noted as leading shoe drum brakes, were not the same as the factory GP racer's 4LS. (And some said the 1974 factory GP racer had disc brakes up front. I dunno.) The brakes on the pictured bike are from a Benelli 650 Tornado. The seller, when questioned about the history of the bike, responded vaguely: Q; Can you provide a 'history' for this bike? Dave Jan-17-10 A: The bike sat in a barn in Minnesota for 30 years until Kent aquired the bike and restored it to museum quailty. Thanks for your interest! Q: does this machine have any history....... race or otherwise?thanks Jan-17-10 A: The bike sat in a barn in Minnesota for 30 years until Kent aquired the bike and restored it to museum quailty. Thanks for your interest! Doesn't really say too much about it's racing provenance does it? Finally, on the builder's (Kent Riches) own website: http://airtech-streamlining.com/benelli/benelliquattro500.htm he depicts the very same bike and notes: The 500 Quattro on your left is another Kent Riches restoration. The original was in ways a parts bin special so we don't feel shy about fitting a Honda CR750 fairing and Norton Commando Production Racer tank to it.

1974 Benelli Quattro 500 GP racer clone. This is not a true factory GP bike, the tank fairing, brakes are not correct. Must be a street bike converted.

Your cut and paste of snippets from the article about a DKW 1937 SS350 are valid for that model, but my pictured offering was a 1938 DKW SS250. Not sure if the SS250 had the same Ladepumpe set-up as the SS350. My DKW is here: http://www.classic-auctions.com/Auctions/23-04-2014-ImperialWarMuseumDuxford-1366/1938DKWSS250-37616.aspx

It IS a DKW but not supercharged and not a 350. Keep trying. Hint: it is up for auction this April with a pre-auction estimate of £100,000-£120,000.

Figure this one out?

Some kind of custom Amazona? With a VW engine? edit: found it! TECPAMA1600 Kahena http://www.odd-bike.com/2012/12/amazonas-1600-beetle-powered-brazilian.html I had been searching for a flat four in an early Nineties twin spar frame.

Riedel Imme. "Built from 1948-51 the Imme was a novel and advanced 100cc two-stroke single designed by Norbert Riedel. the wheels were mounted on stub axles allowing a single sided swing-arm and front forks. the swingarm doubled as the exhaust pipe. A primitive rubber-sprung suspension system was used. A 150cc twin was also built in limited numbers."
