  1. I have a Formula II on my 2000 Ventura. Got it from Motorvation Sidecars in Sibley, IA. They have different types but we felt the Formula II style fit the Ventura. The sidecar has its own breaking system which I have found was a good investment and helps on right-hand turns if you don't modify the front end, which I didn't. It is a new experience and takes a few miles under the belt to become used to it. You will always miss the two wheels. I had to get one because the wife could not ride long distances anymore on the back. One thing, at 80 yrs it is nice to be stable when on freeways. On local rides, our two labs take over and go with us. Not sure how to download attachments or I would send some pics. Contact me via e-mail and I can send some to you. labill
  2. I have the Coast Guard flag mounted on a pole attached to luggage rack. Got it from Armed Forces Gear
  3. When you get it mounted can you post a pic? Thanks
  4. I have tried everything and still nothing changes. The test light is not battery operated. Like I said I have removes faring, all good, pulled all hot lines from added accessories and pulled the main fuse. I will have to live with this and hope it is just a small drain. I will keep a battery tender on when not using. Thanks to everyone for all the help. labill
  5. Have done all of what you said but test light stays on. When the positive side cable is disconnected the test light still stays on even with nothing connected
  6. When I disconnect negative cable and attach test light clip to cable and tip to the battery the light is on even with ignition off. I just pulled the main fuse and the test light still stays on. The light is not dim but bright. Like I said before if I disconnect all wires, including hot cable and connect to negative with test light it still stays lit. I had just purchased a new battery to replace the old one so I put that in and the same problem exists. I have pulled the faring and can find not frayed wires but having pulled the main it should not have made a difference, right? When I go for rides no problem starting, just when it sits for about 2 to 3 days. I am lost. Thanks for the advice. labill
  7. I read the post on checking for battery drain but I am not sure what I have. Every few days my battery is down. So I disconnected the negative wires. Attached test light to negative cable and battery negative. Test light lit. Went and disconnected all extra hot lines to the battery, except the main cable, still lit up. I then disconnected the main hot cable and light still is lit. I reconnected all hot lines, left negative side alone with a test light. Checked fuses and still nothing. Am I looking at a bad battery? I am not an electrician wiz so I am lost. Thanks, labill
  8. I have a 2000 Yamaha Ventura with a Motorvation Formula II sidecar. Seats two and has a wide stance. I have to use it sometimes without the better half. Any suggestions for amount of weight I should consider when empty? Thanks, labill
  9. Getting ready to do my clutch. Can I put it in 5th gear before taking apart? Thanks, Labill
  10. I would ask what one you want with. I am a novice at that sort of thing. I was having power loss and found out about the V-Max rear from the site. That was a world of improvement. Looking at some of the members that changed out their clutch and provided photos I think I can do this and would want to go with what those that have used the newer setup. Thanks for the information and help. labill
  11. You are right. Just re-bleed and rode around the property. Working fine right now. Hope it stays that way, heading for New Orleans in June. My other concern was the clutch strain from the sidecar. I posted a thread on that asking if I should upgrade tom the Barrett clutch Thanks for the response. labill
  12. I know I thanked all of you that put me on the right track in getting the clutch bleed and working but now a second problem. When I start it up cold and put it gear it jumps and stalls. After warming up will go into gear but then I can not get it into neutral without shutting down. It like its locked in first. With pressure I can up shift and down shift but right by neutral. I also just put a thread up on the Barrett clutch and my sidecar. Might that be the problem now, wearing it out. Help again. Thanks, Bill
  13. A few years back I had to add a sidecar to my 2000 Ventura. I did a V-Max rear change out which mad a world of difference. One thing I have noticed is the clutch. Most of the time when starting out in first it sort of seems like its straining. I was wondering if the Barrett clutch would be better. If so should it be a complete or just the spring conversion kit? Thanks, labill
  14. I don't know. Been looking at them myself. Have you tried it, if so does it work and what brand? Thanks, labill
  15. Where did you get the green lights and what type? Will the handle bar controls operate the radio? Thanks, labill
  16. Got it working. Thanks to all for your help. labill
  17. Did not run dry, kept fluid in but not full. I have continued to bleed the system but nothing. I know I am missing something, an expert. Thanks, labill
  18. Flushed the fluid out. Was dirty and a little condensation. New fluid. The first time the clutch had no pressure to it. After working it for a while I was able to shift. Decided to flush again, now I can not get any pressure tom shift. Master cylinder not leaking. What did I do wrong? Thank guys, labill
  19. Will check this out. Fluid is original. Hope that's it. Will be a few days before I can get to it. Thank you. labill
  20. Don't know what happened but my clutch, shifter is acting up. Fluid appears alright, shows about half way up on the glass. Clutch leaver appears to be engaging with little movement, I also noticed that if I do not hold the clutch leaver in tight the bike will creep. I can up shift without problems but down shifting and finding neutral is like shifting without a clutch. Help Thanks, labill
  21. Our Labs love to ride. Have leash hooked to the underside of the harness. No problems.
  22. I have used Sea Foam but was wondering about the Lucus Fuel treatment I use in my vehicle and truck diesel engine. Comments. Thanks, labill
  23. You are right. I have not used the system for about 4 years, read the manual 3 times and missed it. I guess old age and retirement does that to us. See you are Navy but Semper Fi, sailed on many ships. My brother-in-law was Navy and I had more time on ships then he did. Enjoy the retirement. labill
  24. Can't get my radio to show or activate the headset. When I use the select button it goes through the series, SP, Cass etc. But never shows HS or the headset icon. Have not used the setup for a few years. Everything else works. Any ideas. Thanks, labill
