  2. Need some help again! Bike started up yesterday and everything worked. Today when I turn the key on I have lights and a radio but no dash lights. When I turn on the emergency shutoff I get a click, that's all. When I hit the starter button the red temp and oil light goes on. I had the battery checked and its good. Fuse good also. Don't know what to check next. Thanks, Bill
  3. Need help, again! Yesterday bike started up. Today when I turn the ignition on I have lights and a radio but no dash Lights or fuel pump. When I turn kery to start I get two red lights on dash, temp and oil. I checked all fuses and they are good. Had battery load tested and good. Lost. Bill

  8. I have a Formula II on my 2000 Venture. The side car has it's own breaking system so taking it off to ride two up I don't have to worry about bleeding the brakes. However, steering with the sidecar makes your arms tired after a ride. So my question which I know nothing about is a Triple Tree. I have read about them and they all deal with the degree. What would a good degree and still be able to ride two up. Ay recommendations and dealer is appreciated. Thank, Bill
  9. I put a side car on my 2000 Venture a few years back. I was planing on removing the sidecar and go back to ridding on two. However, age is catching up and I might need to stay with three wheels. I did not modify the front end. I need some insight. I have been told that if I modify the front it will be like power steering? Would appreciate any insight, what to do, etc. Thanks,. Bill
  10. Looking at a 2013 V-Star 950 Tourer. Has 20,000 miles and very good condition. I can not find this bike in the NADA book to evaluate prices. Anyone familiar with this bike? Thank, Bill
  11. Take a look at My-Route app. I use it and it is one of the best for motorcycles and transferable to the Garmin or stand on its own. labill
  12. I am looking at them also because of my age. It is my understanding they only function under 6 mph unless you operate them manually. Not for long riding, stopping and starting only. I spoke with one of the reps. Call them they are very helpful labill
  13. I have one of the OEM chrome billet covers and can not locate one more. I was wondering if anyone has modified some chrome after market air cleaners to replace the ugly black ones. My only other option is to go and have the black ones chromed. I have seen a few and they do look nice. Does anyone have any plastic chrome companies they know of? Thanks labill
  14. Thanks everyone. Unfortunately it appears that there is no easy way. So I am stuck with the mirror and laying on the ground. Thanks, Ride safe, labill
  15. I am sure this topic has come up but could not find anything. Anyone find a better way to check oil level then what we have? Thanks, labill
  16. Forgot. When the dogs ride with us I can unplug the extension and the wife can use it. The dogs don't like headsets. labill
  17. I had to attach a sidecar and I had a 5 pin extension wire made that I could plug into the passenger plug and the take it over to the sidecar and plug the passenger in. Don't know if that what you had in mine but was in expensive and works great. Labill
  18. It's been a while but I was able to buy some 5 wire coiled cable. Saved the plugs from the ruined set and after some very tedious, eye staining work I now have new headset cables for less then $20.00. Thanks to everyone that responded. labill
  19. I have a 2000 Venture. I would think both have the 5 pin setup. When you can send the pictures. Thanks
  20. My two head set cords are coming apart. Does anyone know where I can purchase the expanding, coiled wire? I can cut the plugs off and put them on new wires. Places I checked they are in the $70.00 range. Thanks, labill
  21. That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for sharing your experience. labill
  22. Sometime back I developed a leak in my handlebar reservoir. I got help from all of you and replaced the seals, spring, etc. My problem now is I still am losing fluid. With the bike seating, not running I have worked the clutch leave and do not see any fluid leaking. It appears to happen when I shift for a while. I took off the side cover and can see the slave but I don't see any fluid leaking. Can not find any wet areas on the clutch line. I have 50000 miles on it, the last 10000 with a sidecar. Could the slave be leaking inside and I can not see it? Thanks again, labill
  23. Went and cleaned it up a little and retightened everything, no little leaks like before but that's just sitting. Been too hot to ride but as soon as I can I will know. Thanks for all the help. labill
  24. Everything new. I have that diagram so I will take apart again to double check. Thanks
