There is a program (free) called REVO UNINSTALLER. I've used it for several years. It works like this. You download it and install it. When You have a program/software that you want to remove, run REVO. It will first use the programs own uninstall routine then it will do it's own search for pieces of the program that are left on your computer. Almost (I'd actually say all of them) programs uninstall routines will leave hooks, bits and pieces of itself in the registry. REVO gives you the option of selecting from several levels of search and remove. I use the third (moderate) level. It may take a few minutes to complete some steps of registry search and deletion but it does a VERY thorough job, and has never harmed my registry. There is only one thing to watch out for when using REVO, the window(s) that pop up with the messages that things are being done sometimes hide other windows/messages and the computer will sit there forever waiting for an input that you do not even see and therefore don't answer. Simply select and slide the message windows out of the central portion of the monitor screen so that you can see what may or may not be behind the window. At the end of the process it will (if necessary) present a couple of windows with directory trees that may need to be removed. You will have the option to select and delete them. I have never NEVER found any of these to be incorrect. One other thing, some programs do not provide a normal link to the uninstall routine and REVO will therefore not "see" the program. Do a Google search or look on CNET for the latest version, download it and give it a try. It's free, does not have NAG screens and while there is a paid version, you are not likely to need it. The free version is quite satisfactory.

Garmin uses the standard USB 5 volt charging system on their units. Some (i.e. the Nuvi 755) also use a special plug that along with power also includes a method of receiving highway informations such as traffic slowdowns, weather, accidents etc. However not all of the wall or cigarette lighter adapters provide sufficient power to charge the Garmin. I believe it must provide 5 volts at 1000mw. There are a lot of adapters that only output 500mw which Garmin says is insufficient to provide charge/power to the GPS. Many of the adapters will specify that info on the unit but it may be really hard to see. I just had this conversation with Garmin yesterday by coincidence concerning my Nuvi 755.

Not an answer exactly but the least expensive flag poles I've found are at http://startouring.org/ Should you want to replace.

Just an addendum: That red cap with the flip up for turning the cap that I ordered. It did indeed look just like the chrome/stainless that is OEM on the Hannigan installation. It is not the same size and will not fit. It is much too small. It's now in my "junk" box.

I just ordered the Seadog part nr 357090-1 (the red cap) from Harbortown Marine 4765 Liberty Ave Vermilion, OH 44089 440-967-8072 $6.99 (cap) $7.50 S&H $14.50 Total Should be here in about 5-10 days. I'll repost if it fits and works ok. This should use the same installation but just replace the screw cap with a color coded one that has a pop up twist off feature. Seadog has a pop top filler that looks as though it would be an exact replacement but it's about $60.

I don't know if these will help or not, but here they are. Edit addition: I just did a search for "SEADOG" and find that they are a supplier of marine equipment. This filler/cap is on the website and they may have a more useful screw-in cap. I'm going to be doing a closer look at their website. Edit addition: I think that basically the part I would need would be their item number 357090-1. It is a nylon cap with a pop-up to enable easier removal of the cap. They also come in different colors. However their website says Wholesale Only. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y282/alwrmc/Hannigan-Aux-Tank-Filler-1_zps1320323d.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y282/alwrmc/Hannigan-Aux-Tank-Filler-2_zpsbca99ad4.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y282/alwrmc/Hannigan-Aux-Tank-Filler-3_zps9b47229d.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y282/alwrmc/Hannigan-Aux-Tank-Filler-4_zps934021f6.jpg

WYSIWYG Web editor that can cope with php
alwrmcusn replied to greg_in_london's topic in Watering Hole
I tried several different packages a few years back when I was designing and setting up our STAR chapter website. I finally settled on software from Intuit (the Quicken folks). It was easy to use. That was my very first (and only) website design. It ran $97 a year including extra space and the domain name. JFI: We closed down the website a couple of months ago. Seems Facebook is the choice for most of our members. I now do a PDF every month with the info and photos. -
Right on!! JMHO...all gas caps should be on the drivers side...left for bikes.
-
Kowabunga Dude! I had NO IDEA there were that many varieties!! I do like your flip top. Will it fit? Don't know.

Ok, now that we have a fix for the Hannigan trunk lock (and at a VERY reasonable price), I think we need a replacement for the clunky auxiliary gas tank cap. There are some really good fabricators on the website (I ain't one of 'em ).

Don't know if they color match, but I have the saddlebags from my 2009 RSV after trike conversion.

Hannigan Trike Trunk Lock??????????
alwrmcusn replied to First_N_Last's topic in Trike & Sidecar Talk
New T-Bar lock installed. Easier than I thought. -
My idea as I've pondered it for a while..... Remove the entire sound system, replace the entire fairing with one that has a sound system installed in-fairing. That would of course be a megabucks conversion.

Hannigan Trike Trunk Lock??????????
alwrmcusn replied to First_N_Last's topic in Trike & Sidecar Talk
Cougar: I just completed the order of the "correct" lock (smile). Thank you for taking the time to help with this. If this order goes as quickly as the last, I may have it installed for my STAR meeting this weekend. Thanks again and have a super day. -
Hannigan Trike Trunk Lock??????????
alwrmcusn replied to First_N_Last's topic in Trike & Sidecar Talk
OK, this has gotten completely out of hand for me. Can someone provide me a SPECIFIC link/identification/part number of the exact lock I need? Will I have to specify a longer cam or anything? I have the lock I thought I need based on info from the forum here. Now if I understand it correctly that was all in error and I actually need a different lock. -
Hannigan Trike Trunk Lock??????????
alwrmcusn replied to First_N_Last's topic in Trike & Sidecar Talk
What revised post? I ordered the same lock I read on here about. Do I have the wrong one? Before I start trying to install the lock, can someone verify which is which? I've seen the photos in this thread, mine looks just like that one. -

My T-Handle lock arrived (two days early!), waiting for the straight cam to arrive on Monday. Then I'll start looking at the install. -
Barnett Clutch question
alwrmcusn replied to alwrmcusn's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I did make sure that the kits were the same item numbers as shown on the Barnett website for the 2009 Venture. They do match. They do NOT have the notches. I have read a couple of posts that indicate they are not necessary. I sure hope so! Since the plates are all identical (except that one odd one) I really don't see a need to place them in any specific position. -
Hannigan Trike Trunk Lock??????????
alwrmcusn replied to First_N_Last's topic in Trike & Sidecar Talk
Ordered...did not see a place to add the "flat cam" query, so I guess I'll have to pound it flat! -
Allow me to make a small input (confession?) about the Hannigan aux tank. I find that it will drip a small puddle under the trike if I fill the aux tank up into the neck of the filler. One more thing. I started hearing a sort of rattle noise from the right side under certain conditions. It sounded sort of like it might have been the passenger cup holder mounted on the right hand rail. When I wiggled the cup holder it sound enough like that was the problem that I assumed that was indeed it. I tightened it up as best I could and even used a small bungie cord to keep it from moving. The rattle continued as before. It was not a continuous rattle, just for a couple of seconds when accelerating usually. One afternoon as I was cleaning the bike I noticed the left fender front was solid mounted. The right fenders front edged had much more movement. I laid down, looked under the bike and found that the fender brace had lost a bolt where it connected to the frame. That allowed the end of the brace to rattle against its mounting point. I replaced the bolt and all was well. It pays to get down and do those checks now and then!

Hannigan Trike Trunk Lock??????????
alwrmcusn replied to First_N_Last's topic in Trike & Sidecar Talk
OK, someone...Cougar??....take the initiative and order a bunch of these for us. I'd surely take one!! -
Before I triked, I made a mud flap for the Venture using Lowes gray vinyl shower matting. I cut it out and made it twice as long as necessary to allowing folding it over the rod and making it "two ply". I using a flat piece of brushed aluminum and pop riveted it to the center of the flap, surrounded by a "frame" of license plate reflectors. On the aluminum piece I put a decal of my RMC insignia. Just below the aluminum I added a Wal-Mart reflector triangle. Now that the bike is a trike (love the way that sounds ) I have the flap as a carport decoration .

I ordered and received the Barnett Clutch kit (lots of VR.org searches/reads/photos). I matched up the part numbers to the Barnett site to ensure I have the correct kit. I looked at the posted photos of the installation available on VR.org including the pic with the "notches" and the "two dots". My plates do not have notches, so I became suspicious. I also read on VR.org that the Barnett clutch does not have notches and they are not "necessary" to line up as shown on those photos. So, my question(s)..... 1. If there are no notches to line up, does that mean that the discs are in position correctly pretty much anyway you pick them up and set them into place? 2. Clutch drain, I'll be doing an oil change at the same time of course so is the clutch drain another step that needs to be done? If so then what/how exactly is a clutch drain done? I'm not having any problems (knock on wood) with the clutch at about 30K but before we take the trike with the extra weight, passenger, luggage etc to STAR Days, I want to "git r done".

Hannigan Trike Trunk Lock??????????
alwrmcusn replied to First_N_Last's topic in Trike & Sidecar Talk
Cougar: have you tried this item yet? Is the FLAT CAM going to need a slot cut into it like the Hannigan or can you use the Hannigan flat cam? It looks a little short in the barrel (through the trunk door) compared to the Hannigan.
